Moore's Law - a Technosophical Survey

When should you buy the latest and greatest gadget on the market (Cell phone / laptop / tech toy / etc.)?

• Immediately - you have to have the best right now!
• 6 months after it is released - the price will have dropped a little, and most bugs will be worked out
• Immediately, but only if it is for your job
• After the next version comes out, so it's practically free (in other words never buy the latest and greatest anything)
• it depends on the gadget

Will next year's $300 desktop be better, worse, or about the same as this year's $600 desktop?

• MUCH better - like day and night better
• A little better - not much you can do in a year
• About the same - hey, Moore's law says processors double in 18 months - not prices halve in 12!
• Not as good - but close
• About half as good - just a slight speed bump
• Desktop‽ What the heck is that!‽!?! Only tech is portable tech in da future!
