An oboe has a reed yes so that would make it a woodwind except that u don't need a mouth peice to use the reed so theres just a reed which makes it just a reed instrument, but it can still be considered a woodwind.

well i agree that oboe is a reed instrument, but reed instruments are also under the category of woodwind so that question really isn't fair (i play the trumpet!)
An oboe is a woodwind. There is no such thing as a reed instrument.
There is such thing as a reed instrument, the saxaphone, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, those are all REED instruments but they're also wood wind instruments.

I love music playing or listening, I believe anybody who has the heart to play music without quiting is a real musician. Famous or not. I used to do drums, but now I play bass guitar, I really want to learn tenor sax, tuba, trombone, guitar, and many more. Thanks.
I suck as being a musician even if I play the flute sometimesand I'm going to play the guitar so I might get better.
Just for the record, an obo is a reed instument and a woodwind. So some people might'v gotten it wrong-- I got 9 out 10--- I didn't know what a ukelele was until now! =)
