we had a dicussion about ut at school, and I wanted to get a point of view from other people
oh....
i just hate it wen people ASSume that it atomatically means u r gay if u support them... but u mght wanna watch out cause some people spazz at the tought of gays/lez's and such....
but my point was that by doing this we alienante them. kind of like saying that they are different in a bad way. its like we're feeling sorry for them instead of supporting them
ahh, yes, but by being silent "along with" them, aren't we basically just trying to mold them into the rest of the population?
yeah, but they shouldnt have to be molded into the population. they should have a place in society like everybody else. they shouldnt have to be assimilated into the population.
exactly...so, doesn't that mean that the Day of Silence is a bad thing? i mean, i know its supposed to support it, and it's a nice thought that we are respecting them, but wouldn't it be better to just respect gays & lesbians in day-to-day life?

i actually support gay people, though. i mean, i find it stupid that people feel that they should hide their feelings because they think their friends & family won't support them. but i think it's even worse that many times their friends & family don't support them.
its just like making a friend of another gender/race

no it is suppozed to show all the people who participate how hard it is and how uncomfortable for the people who go threw it everyday...
it also effects the friends of whom partipate... because u can't talk to them...

i'm confused. We never did anything like that before. . . . and actually to be honest with you I am bi and everyone in my grade knows but no one cares and if anything i have made more friends since they have found out.
