I don't think its a good idea because what with gas prices the way they our and the economy the way it is i don't think that giving people a few hundred dollars is going to change anything besides slightly delay the inevatable higher prices for everything. on a further note it has already been stated that the majority of the stimulas is going to either be saved or used on gas so only a very small percent will actually make it to the economy to help.
I agree with VK single people get at least $600 and how much is the average cost of rent? about that much and on top of that you have other bills to pay maybe even some credit card debt. then if your a parent you get an additional $300 for every child and if your married you get $1200. so $600 is really like giving a 16 year old 5 bucks & $1200 to a married couple with a child so that's $1500 is like giving a married couple $100 bucks for their troubles. it doesn't go very far.
