AWESOMENESS!
i agree w/ lilyHBP. but i actually find it insulting that ppl are saying "happy holidays" instead of "merry Christmas" just because they dont want people who dont celebrate Christmas to feel left out. ppl still say "happy Hanukkah", even though other ppl dont celebrate it. ppl still say "happy Halloween", even though other ppl dont celebrate it. i just find it isulting
Christmas isn't a christian holiday. It originated in Rome as a pegan holiday where men would get drunk and beat their wives. They would then exchange gifts and have intercourse with each other. Not the least bit christian. And I celebrate Christmas, because of what it's become about giving. Though I'm an atheist.
I LOVE Christmas!!!!!I know it's meant to be a religious day and all about the birth of Baby Jesus,I know that but we just celebrate by recieving and exchanging presents,Having a nice lunch and maybe a little party!
Demieve, that is creepy. LOL Nothing against you personally, but against the people who did it. Wow. That is just so disturbing.
Actually I meant Rocker_Toast_Kid. Sorry LOL
you know what, FangedDemonSamuri? you are wrong. christmas started because jesus was born. its meant to celebrate his birthday, not to get drunk and beat your wife.
actually, FangedDemonSamurai , it is a Christian Holiday. We celebrate when Jesus, the Messiah, was born. So, i believe it is a christian holiday, and other people just think of it for a day to get presents and other countries have twisted the Christmas meaning around. and although i like presents, it is not the MOST important part.
Well, the date, 12/25 used to be a pagan holiday, yes. But since the pagan holiday wasn't exactly pleasant or had a nice meaning, we decided that 12/25 is to be the day when we celebrate the birth of Christ, which I personally think is much better than beating ur wife, but I don't know about you guys...
I love Christmas. I'm a Christian, and saying Happy Holidays is okay because of the Jewish celebrations, if my family decided not to exchange gifts because it took away from the meaning of Christmas, I would think they are crazy because Christmas is about the gift of Salvation that comes from Christ (you know in Christmas). And Christmas is the celebration of Christ's birth and exchanging gifts sybolizes the Gift that comes from Christ. I hope that made sense the way I put it.
oh ya. and any questions, just message me plz. :-)

oops sry. Added twice.
i agree with you all the way! i am Christian but i still celebrate Christmas like most people, i think. i love Christmas!
Jesus was actually born in March.
They decided to celebrate his Birth in December because the pagans were celebrating a pagan holiday and the chirstians wanted to celebrate something so they decided to celebrate chrismas.
i totally agree
No. Jesus was not born in March, he "came back from the dead" in March. His birthday is 12/25. I know this although I don't celebrate Christmas, it just intrests me. So I know more about X-mas than my Christian/Catholic friends.....lolzz
Actually teamdemi_14 is right. Jesus was born in the spring. bigcat1234 you dont know more than all your christian/catholic friends you know just as much. when Jesus was born his parents were in Bethlehem observing a Jewish "holiday" or something (i cant remember exactly right now because its late at night and im really tired but if anyone wants to know message me and ill respond asap.) if you look up when that Jewish "holiday" was you would realize that Jesus was born in the spring. ran out...
if we knew the exact date we would be more preocupied with the date than the meaning...like everyone is now. Christmas is not about presents or food.(those are nice tho.)Christmas is about recognizing that Jesus loved us all enough to come down to this earth as a tiny baby, live a perfect life and then be murdered just so we can have the choice of spending eternity w/ him. Christian or not its something to keep in mind. please feel free to message me w/ any questions or comments.
Yes, I totally agree. Nice way to put it. :-)
Well, i dont mean to be a or anything, but i tghink Christmas has TOTALLy turned into a big corporate holiday. i mean, look at the stores- thery start putting out Christmas inventory even before Thankgiving. and a lot of peolple now days dont care about Jesus or Bethlehem or things relegious. when my own family celebrates Christmas, its not all about the religious part. or the presents. it just kinda comes, we spend money money money and travel and were done. so yeah.
I think that Christmas is both a religious holiday and just a fun holiday . I think that its celebrated many ways with different traditions . Some celebrate it with the reminder of Christ on their mind . Others may just celebrate for the fun of family, friends, and a few food . And others may just celebrate it both ways ! Thats just my way of seeing how Christmas is celebrated (:
Thank you! Thats what I think too, and its kind of annoying to me that people think there is only one 'right' way to celebrate.
i semi agree with you, but its meant to be a religious holiday. The exchanging of gifts comes from when the wise men brought Jesus the three gifts. People twisted that around and now when we think Christmas we think presents and Santa Claus, not what was intended tho.
I also semi agree with you. There is no "right" way to actually "celebrate" (except that one I just have to rule out is the beating ur wife thing I mentioned earlier), but if you want to celebrate it in the original way it was meant for, that would most likely be the "right" or "intended" way. But all the nice fun traditions are great too.

Christmas to me quite frankly I really don't give a dam
u on that one question it said if ur not a christian how do u spend christmas well just because ur a christian doesnt mean you dont celebrate christmas the same way were not that different :)
also agree with you! i was confused by that question!
i agree we shouldnt act different because we have different beliefs and christians arent the only ones who celebrate christmas
beastly
uhh heh........just curious........theres a book by that name...........have you heard of it?? or read it?........very good that book....
sorry i was just curious.....
I'm not a Christian but I do love Christmas. Mostly because any Christian meaning has been beaten out of it by the crowbar of the entertainment industry and retail sales.
I agreee I'm not really Christian. I'm half Jewish(my mom) but I don't really celebrate holidays with a religous purpose. Christmas is more commercial than religous now.
even though thats true, i still celebrate it because of jesus.
nice metaphor
i am a christian and i think christmas is a time to think of jeasus and family. but i am only fr the presents and and family. jesus is awesome i love him
GO JESUS! I LOVE YOU JESUS!
