Life Line (New Poem)

History. I wrote this about 2 years ago when a group of my friends and I were forced to talk our close friend out of committing suicide... It's written free verse.

Life Line
I hear the phone ringing
I pick it up to hear your sobbing voice
You tell me you can't take it, it hurts to much
And you want the pain to end...
You want life to end

My heart stops beating
My hands are starting to shake
I try to take a breath, just a breath
But my lungs aren't working
Nothing is working.

  1. 1

You say you'll miss me, That one day I'll see you again, That in the end it'll all be okay. How can this be ok? It won't be ok...

  2. 2

I try to tell you How much I care, how much I love you. I want to know that my friend will live on. But my tongue isn't working... Nothing is working

  3. 3

You tell me goodbye, and I hear a gun loading on your end. A million thoughts cross through my mind. But my scream isn't working... Nothing is working.

  4. 4

Suddenly I breathe, I tell you how much I care, that I love you. I fall to my knees as a million thoughts escape my throat. I want you to live. I NEED you to live.

  5. 5

I hear something hit the floor... I know it's not you, I can hear your sobbing voice. A silent tear falls from my face to the ground. In my heart, I feel you're ok. Together in time, we'll be ok

  6. 6

    Ok. It's done. Opinion?

  7. 7
