Have you always been Atheist or did you convert to Atheism and from what?

Atheism is becoming more common now that we find ourselves moving in to the Age of Reason. Some are simply brought up as Atheists, some are given the free choice to choose it and others are raised under a religious doctrine before converting (as I did).

As such, I am researching Atheistic tendencies and I would like to know which of the above is the most common.
