Inventory management is the art of finding items in your cavernous inventory. How skilled are you at inventory management?
- I frequently lose things in my inventory and haven't figured out the best way to organize things yet.
- I know to check for the name of an item when something is given to me so I can find it in my inventory. I use the inventory search feature frequently.

- I didn't know I had a profile.
- I have a picture in my profile and put in some information about myself in the text box.

The Group feature in Second Life is used to communicate with many people at once. How comfortable are you with the Groups feature?
- I have not joined any groups yet.
- I am a member of several groups and have participated in a group IM session.
- I belong to many groups and have created my own groups for different things.
- I belong to the maximum 25 groups and routinely have to juggle groups for different projects. I've also created my own groups and know how to use the group roles to manage land and object permissions.

The "Search" button works like Google in Second Life. How do you use the "Search" feature?
- I didn't know you could search for things in Second Life.
- I have used the search feature to look for people, places, or things.
- I have used many different tabs in Search and know how to filter my search to get different results.
- I'm a pro with the Search tool and know how to use keywords, filters, and multiple tabs to find what I'm looking for in Second Life.

Manipulating or creating objects in Second Life is a key skill for creating learning spaces. How comfortable are you using the Building/Editing tools in Second Life?
- I haven't used the building or editing tools in Second Life.
- I know what a prim is and I am comfortable editing objects and moving them around, but I haven't built anything.
- I can build and texture/color basic objects and feel very comfortable moving items around.
- I can create and texture objects and know how to make them interactive with scripts. I am a pro at moving items around and placing them where I want them.

Though it isn't required, most instructors have a plot of land to hold classes. How comfortable are you with the land management tools in Second Life?
- I have never owned or rented property in Second Life.
- I have rented or leased land in Second Life, but I haven't really used the land management tools
- I have owned or leased land in Second Life and know how to change parcel names, media settings, and other land permissions.
- I am a pro at land management and know how to divide parcels, manage group owned land, and combine group/land permissions to get the desired results.

Finally, the best measure of how ready you are to teach in Second Life is to ask - how much time have you spent in Second Life?
- I have been in Second Life for less than 1 month.
- I have been in Second Life for 2-3 months and I spend a few hours a week there.
- I have been in Second Life for 4-6 months and have spent a significant amount of time in-world.
- I have been in Second Life for more than 6 months and I frequently attend events and/or manage my own projects.
