I am currently a student in the South Kitsap School District and would talk about a much needed addition the 9th Graders Curriculum and Activites.

- not whether or not I have to pick between a history assignment and a P.E. make-up. I can’t go up to the high school to take classes because I,like many children, have parents who due work, and there is no transportation. And leaving band is not an option for me.
- I know that the grades before high school really don’t matter, but high school does. That’s when I have to step it up because if I don’t I can ruin the rest of my life so easily. It can make me or break me. Students in South Kitsap School District aren’t being given a fair chance. In our neighboring counties the high school runs 9-12, offering a period 0 for all high school students.

I understand that our high school is too crowded and that is why 9th graders still have to attend junior high and I understand the levy was voted down for another high school. What I’m asking thou
- , is just try one school with a period 0 and/or 7th period. Try the school I attend and see the kids who sign up for it. The ones who do will have higher test scores, be more ambitious and build and represent Port Orchard community and, a good school district with the future in mind for the young residents who reside there.
- And I know right now you’re probably thinking about how we’re in debt 5 million dollars, but this is a venture worth taking. I hope that you read this over and agree with me. The military isn’t an option for everyone. We need futures, we need stability, we need financial well-being and we need to be the driving force to help inspire our community and grow.
