The Lord equips his followers many spiritual gifts, ministries, and talents to impact the world. However, Romans 12:4-8 promises that believer has at least one of the gifts listed there. These gifts form a foundation for your ministry, and allow you to be fruitful. The NIV translates them as prophesying, serving, teaching, encouraging, contributing, leadership, and mercy. Upon hearing an announcement at church regarding a new convert, a smoker who is experiencing tough financial times, which comment most closely resembles my initial response?
- I should tell him to hang in there, I know God will meet his needs.
- Maybe I can make some calls to help find him a better job.

I would prefer participating in:

- I'm very willing to offer my time, gifts and finances for the Lord's work.

One pitfall I have to be careful of:
- It is easy to expect others to maintain my high standards, even before they're ready.
- When explaining something, I get so caught up in pointing out how everything fits into the "big picture" that I can lose my listeners.
- I tend to rely on personal experience before scripture.
- When explaining something, I can get so caught up in talking about all the details and bits of side information that I may lose my listener.
- I can jump in and perform incompleted tasks for which someone else may be responsible.
- If I have something and someone needs it, I may not give it to them if it really isn't good enough.
- I may jump in and try to help someone out of a situation that, while painful, may be important for them to experience in order to grow.

I have to be careful:
- Of going overboard following a plan and forgetting to allow room for the Lord's leading or provision.
- About becoming prideful because of my knowledge and of thinking, "Well, they certainly should know that."
- That I don't give others the impression that I am trying to control an issue when I'm really just trying to ensure that resources are used wisely.
- To remind myself to speak the truth in love when I'm confronting others.
- Of becoming so wrapped up in dreaming up a better way of doing something that I forget to relax.
- Not to become so busy performing tasks that I neglect my personal relationship with God.
- When I relate to others, I can begin to feel and "take on" their hurts of sadness myself.

- Realizing that something needs to be done, and finishing it up quickly.
- Being able to help another by providing a plan they can follow in order to better deal with their situation.
- Being moved to tears while listening to another's testimony.
- Catching a theme or overall idea before others do.
- Spending frugally on myself or my family so I can give to the Lord.

- I don't mind helping someone who doesn't thank me.
- I lead by example and by speaking truth boldly, sometimes using visual images to depict my message.
- I sometimes stand on the sidelines until those in charge turn over responsibility and authority to me and I see that I have the cooperation from those involved.
- I never make a New Year's resolution without a plan to get there, even if I may not follow it up.
- I can remain silent until all the information has been heard and verified.
- I take part in missions by supporting it prayerfully and financially - this makes me an important part of the team.
- I'll go the "second mile" and add meaningful finishing touches.

My natural tendency when dealing with others is to:
- Place less value on people who can't meet their financial obligations.
- Avoid correcting others because it may do more harm than good.
- Expose a sin and stop it or its spread rather than to restore the sinner.
- Notice their likes & dislikes, and try to keep that in mind.
- Size up a person's strengths, weaknesses and what they have to offer the group.
- Become frustrated when a person who could improve if they just followed instructions.

When I think of sin, my views most closely resemble:
- I'm bothered most by a leader not keeping things under control, or one who lacks a clear plan or goal.
- "A little leaven leavens the whole lump" - cut off those who sin so justice will be done and others warned.
- Paying bills on time is a greater witness than talking about immediate spiritual concerns.
- Sin comes from failing to act according to God's plan - if you obey, God will take care of you.
- "If you have these things, but not have love…"
- "All I remember about that sermon is that the pastor misquoted the text. They were crossing the Jordan that time, not the Red Sea."
- You're just playing church if you can't get in there and get your hands dirty working for God.

- I notice important needs that may seem insignificant to others, especially ones requiring physical, personal attention.
- I am often called a "good friend" and am sought after by others, even when I'm not that close to them; when I share with others, I am very sensative to see if I'm helping them.

- Understand the rules and help both individuals and the body at large also to understand them.
