So, I haven't made any of these questions up, they were all in my homework at some point. By the Way, don't take this quiz if you don't feel like thinking a bit.

    this one is tougher: 2(y-2)-(y+4)=6

    two consecutive numbers added together equals 43. what are these two numbers?

    a boy is 3 years older than his sister. in 5 years both their ages added up will be 39. how old are they both?

    If we add 14 to the double of a number, we get 40. What is the number?

    Last one, it's easy: two numbers represent a difference of 11. if they get added up, the equal 85. what are these numbers?
