What is a Pitch Bend? (or Portamento)
A set of two or more notes that sound simultaneously.
Single notes of a chord, played one right after another.
One note is changed, or slid, up or down to another, without intteruption. It temporarily changes the pitch.
A rapid fluxuation on one note, usually prodused by bending the string back and forth. Gives a vibrating effect.

What is the difference between an Arpeggio and a Chord?
Nothing, it's two terms for the same thing.
Arpeggios are sepparated out, Chords are notes strummed together.
Arpeggios use pitch modulation, Chords use volume modulation.
Apreggios are played on higher notes, Chords are played on lower notes.

Is it always necessary to take off the back plate when changing strings?
Always, you can't get the strings in the right slots otherwise.
No, never.
Depends on the guitar.
You aren't supposed to change strings yourself, you need a professional to do it.
