Spotting non-Original Parts on a Used Car Purchase

Say the F-250 pickup you want to buy had a stolen tail gate or the Mustang had a passenger mirror broken on the street. Would you know if the replacement part was an original part? Would it matter to you?

Would you know to look for a replacement manufacturer part that matches the car?

You buy a used car with a replacement part that cost the original owner $50 and is a Chinese made part because they could have spent $100 on a used part from an auto wrecker. What do you do?

You own a car you will be selling but it needs basic cosmetic stuff including some replacement parts. What do you do?
