i'm sure the catholic church sticks by a strict code of monotheism, but who's to say they know what they're talking about? surly omnipresent deities can communicate with the masses and therefore what the masses believe should be inline with any supreme being that they worship, whether an age old institution agrees or not. you can decide for yourself...

does a catholic saint have to perform miracles to be considered for sainthood?
- a standard issue catholic saint has to have performed at least two miracles
- no sir! if someone so much as gives me the time of day they are a saint in my eyes!
- you can't be a saint unless you can pretty much hold your own in a battle of heaven and earth amongst the supernatural elite

are catholic saints worshipped or followed by the masses?
- hell yeah, some saints are idolised like a deity
- if you mean a giant statue in there image is created by the masses, loved and adored by all, then yes
- well they are prayed to for help and salvation right?
- i don't think so, saints are only considered gods pals with their only real power being the ability to run to god with a problem
- well if they can perform miracles, couldn't someone pray to them for help and avoid hassling the big boss man? sounds like worship to me

what is a deity?
- a god like being with supernatural powers that is worshipped or followed
- any omnipresent being or force that has power beyond a mortal human
- any being that is worshipped or followed in any way at all (e.g. Harland Sanders)
- every human in existence
- there's only one dammit! it created the universe and everything in it!
- every conscious entity that has ever existed is part of the same omnipresent force that is existence and therefore all consciousness is equally god like and so if one is a deity then they all are
- everything that has ever existed is part of the same omnipresent everything that is everything and therefore if the term "deity" is ever to be considered it refers to everything being that deity and therefore there is and can only ever be one single "deity" which just so happens to be everything
