On May 1, 2007, the Texas Association of Business released the results of a "independent poll" featuring results of 800 "registered voters" who registered their opinion on the currently pending SB 534.

The Texas State Rifle Association offers this similar poll, which will feature questions that contain all of the appropriate information.

  1. 1

Are you more likely to vote for a candidate in a state, national or local election if they are strong defenders of your right to keep and bear arms?

  2. 2

Are you aware that in order to have a Concealed Handgun License in the state of Texas, that the license holder must pass a list of requirements that is among the strongest in the US?

  3. 3

Did you know that if you have a criminal record of misdemeanor offenses, it is easier to become a police officer than to obtain a Concealed Handgun License in Texas?

  4. 4

Do you know that Texas law, throughout the codes dealing with Concealed Handgun Law, defines "premises" as the building, and specifically excludes parking areas?

  5. 5

Do you believe that private employers should have the right to be able to prevent their employees with CHL's from keeping a handgun locked in their car on their employers parking lot?

  6. 6

Would you feel safer at a place of work that allowed reasonable access to licensed firearms, or in a building that the owner made no provisions for security whatsoever?

  7. 7

When it comes to "issues" dealing with firearms law, are you more likely to trust the Texas Association of Business or the National Rifle Assocation and its affiliates?

  8. 8

Since the Penal Code defines "premises" to exclude parking areas for every other situation, do you think a private employer should have more rights than you?

  9. 9

Do you think it is appropriate for an employer to be able discipline or terminate an employee for carrying a licensed firearm in their car?
