Does he like me, like me as a friend, or possibly using me for school purposes?

There's this guy in one of my classes. I am confused about what our "relationship" is. We know each other by name, we greet each other before we take our seats and listen to the lecture, and sometimes say goodbye afterwards. I wouldn't think much of this but he's done some things that makes me wonder...am I reading too much into this?! BTW, the class works like this: listen to lecture during class, then do outside homework with your assigned group members. We are in different groups.
