theres this one popular girl at my school, and she was dating the most popluar guy in the sixth grade for like 8 months, then he broke up with her and she asked out this guy(kind of a nerd, but every other popular guy was taken) for only two reasons, 1... she wanted to make her ex jealous, and 2.... she was soooo DESPERATE because with that popular group its uncool to be single.

well i think yer wrong,if a girl askz a guy out i think itz just that they're confident!i asked my boyfriend out,and i keep him interested by not giving him what he wantz,but only doing what i want,and i tease him! if a guy getz bored itz cuz the girl iznt az interesting az he thought she would be,when a girl askz a guy out he see'z her az daring,and if she keepz him interested he wont want tew let go of her,thatz the case with me and my bf.

Did you ever happen to think that maybe that's why there are so many teen pregnancies and young single mothers? The guy gets what he wants, and because he got it so easily, he gets bored and leaves. I've said it before and I'll say it again: men love a challenge.
There's so many teen pregnancies because both girl AND boy where irresponsible when being together. It has nothing to do if the girl asked the boy out or not. If you want to avoid teen pregnancy you need to protect yourself, or practice abstinece...
Okay, I'll admit it, Le_Vampires, you're right. I was thinking of something else. It's just that the increasing number of teen pregnancies is very alarming in my opinion.
Hey I_love_Magnum_PI, its ok. I know, its so alarming all these teenage pregancies, even more because the majority are unwanted and who knows what future awaits for those kid/teen parents and their babies.

A girl asking a guy out is normal to me. I think that all that about "boys loving a challenge" and "girl seems easy" is being prejudist and sometimes its men with exaggerated masculinity (machismo) It sounds like something my grandparents would stand for eagerly... Come on people its great to have a challenge and knowing its worth the wait, but whats wrong with a girl knowing what she wants and taking a chance on the dating world? Well thats my opinion anyways...

I would ask the guy out cuz you need to show that guy that your a confident and independent woman who's not afraid to take charge once in a while. And it also show's him that you are good enough for him if your the one who has the guts to ask him out!

Personally, I think it's desperate. If they like you they'll ask you, they like a challenge also. It's sort of the same thing, girls don't propose to guys (most of the time) so girls shouldn't ask them out. It's weird, everyone's doing it now though.
