Dr. Ray H. Hughes was appointed by the 1982 General Assembly to be the 15th President of Lee (he served previously during 1960-66). After 12 years of Dr. Charles W. Conn, Dr. Hughes' leadership was a "BIG" change for students and staff. He lead for two academic years and then Dr. Lamar Vest became 16th President in the fall of 1984.
