blah blah dont WASTE your TIME readin dis bss!! Turtles usually reach maturity at three years of age. This of course is dependent on the species in question. Males tend to mature earlier than females, and maturity seems to be more dependent on size then age (Alderton, 1988). In terrestrial turtles there is obvious dimorphism, with the males being larger than the females. This is a result of intermale competition and forcible insemination.
