Why does he avoid me?? :(

Okay, so I went out with this guy and I liked him soooo much (so did he). Then, I dumped him. After, I realize I made a mistake since I still liked him so much but I'm too shy to ask him out again so I waited. After 6 months, I heard that he said I'm ugly, I got sorta upset and gave him back what he gave me when we were together. He looks down at it with a sad face, I regret it. A year later, he still avoids me. I saw him see me and then just move when we weren't even close. Help! :(

    Okay, so it's now been over a year since I broke up with him but he still acts weird around me. (avoids my looks, avoids being close to me etc.) What does this mean??

    Okay, so he still looks at me at times and a couple days ago, I waved at him and he waved back so, why does he still avoid me after that?
