The Two Souls

A little inspiration. I'm writing this too, so give me some time to get it all into order. I'll try to update this on a daily basis...depending on how often I get on. When you see "incomplete" it means the chapter isn't complete.

Chapter 1

by: Niru
"We all learn to speak, live, grow...and in the end we find something about ourselves. For him, it was no matter what the outcome, I was always there. This concludes my presentaion of how one can affect another." Rosalie walked away from the podium and sat in her seat looking around timidly. "You did great, Rose." said a voice behind her.
Rosalie smiled and looked back at Alexander. His black hair slanted neatly halfway over his amazing silver eyes. Of course he had on his boyish halve smile. they were friends for almost two years, the even had nearly the same classes despite the fact that he was a junior and she was a sophomore.
"Xander," she whispered quietly, "want to watch a movie saturday?" Alexander gave her a silent nod and offered her an earphone. They always did something every weekend. Even last week, all they did was sit and listen to music in her room.
After I Don't Care by apocalyptica played, the bell sounded. "See you at lunch." Xander muttered quickly. She knew how he felt about that song, frowning, she pucked up her book and headed to English 2 - Pre-AP English 2. The whole period she remembered the whole situation; fresh from three months ago.

They, alexander and his girlfriend, were together when Rosalie met them. Him and Erika had been going steady for three years and two months. He often talked about marrying her. Rosalie knew how much she loved him and how much more he loved her.
One day, Alexander shyly asked Rosalie if she could help him practice proposing to Erika. As a kind friend, she agreed. His face turned red and he was stuttering but he asked. She couldn't help but to giggle, but after a while he got it down perfectly.
In the end he knelt to the ground holding Erika's hand and pulled out the ring. She turned him down saying she had someone else, that she didn't care for him anymore. It broke his heart. He was a mess.
Every night they argued. Every night, Alexander called Rosalie begging to make the pain go away. Her love was fake as his was real. Then, it came to the breaking point, the point she left him severed came. She made it clear that she hated him. She slept with the man she told Xander about.
His life had never been the same. She broke it, broke him. All of him was torn beyond any severe pain. He'd cry day in and day out, miss days of school, laying on his bed drugged up on pain killers.

Rosalie didn't want to remember finding him unconscious, bleeding on the floor with a knife in his hand and half of the container of pain killeres injested. She shivered at the thought. The bell began to ring and she noticed that for the whole class she had only that situation in her mind. Lucky for her, she wasn't missing anything but a reminder of assignments due monday.

Alexander sat, head down, listening to music. His pen worked on the paper accurately, he was a smart guy after all. The teacher went on lecturing, writing the more important things on the board for notes. Staring out the window, his mind wandered to a happier place; Rosalie's heart and soul.
For a time he phased in and out. All he could remember was 'test next friday'. There was nothing different, he did this every time. All Alexander wanted to do was be outside and just run. Breathe, he told himself, yyou don't have to be here. Soon enough he heard the bell annd went to lunch.
As always, Rosalie waited next to a large oak. It was a small isolated area - soft, lush grass, flowers of all colors, and of course a cushiony patch where the two friends chatted. he recalled planting those flowers his freshman year, now he cared for them dearly.
Peering into the shaded area, he saw Rosalie doing a bit of weeding here and there as she waited. To him, she was so pretty, short brown hair that was frayed stylishly, slate gray eyes with crystal blue speckles, a warm smile that could melt almost every cold heart.
She waved at her friend, and he came to sit. Together they ate and shared stories. Rosalie and Alexander both had rough lives. Every day they'd talk about the little things that mattered and looked back fondly on good times they both shared.
"Rosalie...?" Alexander asked quietly. She looked up at him, slight curiousity. "What, my friend?" Hesitating, he stared down at a blue cosmos, the onlly shade of blue in a group of white flowers.
The silence was filled with tension - uncertainty, but Xander knew what he needed to say. "T...Thank you; for being such a great friend." Her eyes shone as she met his pain-stained eyes. "Xander-" she started to say, but the bell cut her off.
She watched him leave, hands in his pockets and slightly slouched; the typical antisocial walk. Sighing, she looked down at the same cosmos. Rosalie wanted to tell Alexander that she felt the same and that he was her best friend. After a brief moment, the girl picked up her stuff and made her way to class.
It was saturday night, Rpsalie just got back from her big performance at the theatre several miles away. Alexander had come with her. As they walked through the door, Rosalie recited a line that another actor had said, "You have her father's love Demetrius. Let me have Hermia's. Do you marry him." They both laughed.
"What's your next showcase?" he asked curiously in her room. The line up this year mainly consisted of Shakespeare's best, a little of Edgar Allen Poe, tradegies, and comedies. Still, the next play was a surprise; Romeo and Juliet. Her, as always, playing one of the main characters - Juliet. She was a performing arts student for 5 years, a musician with a passion for pieces in piano, a bilangual student that went to learn French, Spanish, and German.
Alexander had not been too far off, potential of being and outstanding actor, the same love and passion for instruments despite how little he played compared to all of Rosalie's instruments, and bilangual knowing French, Russian, and Portagues.
Tonight they were watching Romancing the Stone as Rosalie translated some of the speech. Knowing more than the common tongue was an upside to attending an international school. The friends tutored each other on it, Rosalie had to learn Russian as Alexander had to learn Spanish. However, both had to learn Chinese and Tagalogue.
After the movie, it was 10:30, Rosalie and Alexander mentored each other on Spanish and Russian then talked in Chinese. By 12:00 they were done with language study. "Want to borrow my car?" Rosalie asked. She had a permit and a car, but she couldn't drive unless her mom was teaching her.
Alexander shrugged, "It's one of those nights." She nodded and went to prepare the guest room. 'One of those nights' meant his dad was drinking. His father was a major violent drunk. Never did Alexander stay home those nights after the first time.
