Chapter 1

Intro

Safe-Haven. secure. Sound. Impregnable. Unassailable. invulnerable.
No-Such-Thing.
I ran across the road. No-One tried to stop me, nor did they seem to realize where I was running. I was sick of the tanks and the soldiers. They clouded my mind with their murderess domination. And those clouds, those clouds of destruction that they enforce in my mind turned to stormy anger as I got closer to the other side of the busy market road. I pass people. Ordinary people who should have an ordinary life to match don’t you think!?
I climbed over the fence.
Safe-Haven. secure. Sound. Impregnable. Unassailable. invulnerable.
Do you think I expected to survive? I was not crazy. I was not suicidal though what I was about to do was. The tank stood alone in the sand. I held my burqa over my face as I ran towards it. The wind blew against me and sand attacked my eyes but I kept going. The tank did not move. It stood, a giant in the desert.
Safe-Haven. secure. Sound. Impregnable. Unassailable. invulnerable.
As i stood alone on the burning sand it struck me that I didn’t know why I was doing this any-more.
