Electric
Based on a story I went through.
Chapter 1
To start it off...
Hello, My name is Erin.
My passion's are singing and acting.
The first time I recorded something, well, I felt happy inside, I felt like a new person. I even got a tad bit obsessed.
It started on a cold day. The thunder erupted through my whole house, causing my dog to bark and the birds to peak in the rooftop. My mother and I had to make some baked goods for a bake sale that we were doing in my school's Drama Club.
It would be held at the big Football game. Called the "Pizza Bowl". The only reason it is the major game is because it is against the biggest rivalry. The two middle school absolutely hate one another, and the game is supposed to "Unite" the two middle schools, mainly the 8th graders who will all be pooled together next year at the highschool.
My friend Samantha and I were going to hang out after the game, so I packed my purse with money and pieces of candy for the movies. Sam and I aren't really "BFF'S" or anything, but we are friends. She called the previous night but I was busy, so we decided to hang out and have a sleepover after the Pizza Bowl.
My friend Jade used to be in Drama Club but Soccer and her busy schedule had that changed. She met us at the game, and hung out with us while she could.
You see my friend group is held by our original 4some. Myself, Jade, Alex, and Selena. We were extremely close in the 6th grade. Then in 7th our friend Taylor decided to join our group. 8th grade our friend Sarah joined us. The reasons they joined aren't very clear, but they were welcomed with open arms.
Anyway, Alex and Selena can get very close, and at times it is annoying. So that is when Jade and I get close. We call it a "Cut and then Tape" it splits in half. Our friend Cally used to hang out with us in 6th and the beginning of 7th grade but she left us because of Alex... They didn't get along, so she left us...
Anyway at the game Selena and Alex kinda broke off by themselves, they were ignoring me, so whatever...
We ended up winning the game for once, which was good, considering the on and off rain.
Sam's mom picked us up and dropped us at the movie theatre's. We went to see Alpha and Omega. It was a really, really cute movie. It was funny and was good to see. After the movie we went across the way to a place sort of like a peter piper pizza. We played a few games, but decided to leave. I called my dad and he said he would be ther to pick us up and take us home in about a half an hour.
We walked around, and I said "Sam, lets go into that studio." she said ok and we walked in. I had gone in before and thought it was very cool. There were some girls in there along with the two male workers. The girls were in 6th grade, one of them even knew my name. The younger worker gave us a tour, my second tour but Same wanted to see it.
There was a room you could practice a song in, kareokee or whatever you are doing, the room was soundproof. There was a green screen that you could do the CD's cover artwork. Then there was the actuall recording area, again soundproof. It had the cool microphones and everything. It was amazing.
Sam and I looked at the songs they had in awe. The place was our home, us both being singers and all. The workers were very helpful to all the questions we had.
After the little girls left an Idea popped up in my mind. I looked at the worker and asked "So... how long would this take? To record a song and everything?"
He looked at me and smiled "Well, a half an hour to and hour, it depends really on how much practice you will need."
I looked at Same and back to him "So do you think if I called my Dad to ask we could do something now? I have money."
"Yeah, go ahead." He said So I called my Dad, and he said yes I could. I hung up and the guy looked at me "So what's the game plan?" he said, and I told him my Dad said it was fine.
Sam and I walked into the practice room and looked at the touch screen kareokee thing. We both love the Band Evanescence, so we looked at her songs that they had. The had My immortal, Bring me to Life, and Lithium. Sam and I both decided to do Bring Me To Life. We sang it through once, and then decided to split the beginning up. She sang the first part while I sang the second, then we both sang the rest together.
We walked ou of the practice room and said we were ready. Right as we were walking to the recording area my Dad walked in, he came and sat down at the counter talking to the owner (other worker dude).
We got in the room and adjusted the mic's. He gave us our headphones and showed us how to use the volume. He walked out and shut the door. Same and I looked at each other and smiled, giving a suttle thumbs up.
The music started and I could feel my heart skip a beat. The smile on my face spreading larger. The song went perfect, it was merely a blur as to what I just did. i was officially a recording artist. We walked out and listened to the song. I listened to my voice mostly, laughing at my own flare that I put on the notes. They sound great of course, and I don't even realize that I do them.
We did our picture with lightning in the background. We just looked at the camera not smiling, kind of like Amy Lee does on the Evanescence covers.
The way Sam and my voice blend sounds so amazing, and it wasn't electrically modified. It was us.
So I decided to call the album Electric. It was perfect, the font had little bolts of lightning coming out of it so it was perfect with the background.
All in all we called the album: SE's Electric
For Sam Erin's Electric.
