They Charge for Carrion?
The tale of two vultures trying to make their way in the world.
Chapter 1
Flight of Fancy
Abe and Sam, two handsome Turkey Buzzards, decided that Houston was just too darned hot! They were tired of picking up fried food from blistering concrete shoulder of I-45.
"How's about we grab some sushi, Sam?" asked Abe.
"I think you mean 'sashimi,' Abe. Sushi's rice. Rice is not good for us birds."
"Sushi, sashimi, whatever. Goodness, Sam, you've been hanging out with that frisky little heron again, haven't you?"
"She's an egret," said Sam.
"Pedantic vulture," muttered Abe. "Hey, let's go somewhere cooler. I know this place where the big birds hang out. Maybe we can hitch a ride."
Sam turned his head. "Sounds good. I don't really feel up to flying out of state today."
Together, they glided along until they reached George Bush International Airport. Abe landed atop a Continental 747. "Abe? That's a plane," said Sam.
"Well, it flies really fast, and I don't think it'll even notice us up here," Abe said.
