I hid my head in Jake's neck and breathed in his musky scent from the woods the day before.

"I can't tell you how glad it is to have you back in my life again. It makes me feel whole." he whispered against my ear.

I closed my eyes as he spoke to me, hearing his husky voice was soothing.

"You're heart is fluttering like a hummingbird. What's wrong?"

What Jake didn't know is that I had butterflies in my stomach for what I wanted to do to him.

I looked up at him with gleaming eyes, glancing at his lips every so often.

He rubbed his thumb across my cheek. My heart was beating out of my chest.

The sexual tension was killing me. It felt like a punch in the stomach when we couldn't touch each other. I knew he felt that way too.

Jake's eyes turned from a chocolate brown to a caramel color.

He focused on my face, mostly my eyes for a long time, or so it seemed.

"You have the most beautiful eye color in the sunlight. A grey - blue." He told me, wrapping his arm around my waist.

We kissed once more, embracing each other's bodies.

All of a sudden, a howl was heard through the window.

I glanced at Jake after we suddenly broke from the kiss, he was staring at me, thoughtful.

"Go. I'll be fine. But - be careful!"

He put a finger to my lips, hushing me, "Jess, everything is going to be fine. I'm a werewolf, remember? Even if I did get hurt . . . I would heal fast."

I stared at him, "But you won't . . . right?"

"I won't." he laughed, kissing me once more on the lips.

I hopped off the bed, walking over to the window and opening it for him, "Go. I'm serious!"

He slowly walked over to the window, rubbing my arm as put his leg on the ledge. I smiled a quick smile as I saw him run across the yard, into the rainy darkness of the woods.



I never realized ho much that I missed Jake until I saw him leave me.
I got nauseous, very nauseous.

It was the though of him getting hurt that killed me more than anything.
