FINALLY THE NEW CHAPTER'S UP!!!!!!!!!!! i know it's been forever idk why i stopped. well i'm re-writing the howling because well i changed everything about it, even the name. so yeah enjoy!
What the hell could Marcus want to tell me? I’ve only known him for like, 3 days, no, 3 hours more like. Is he gonna confess his new undying love for me? Is he gonna tell me that he’s not even gay? Is he gonna tell me that he’s married? I’ll kill him and his husband if that’s the case. Wait, why do I care? I’m not even gay. Am I? Ugh why is there so many questions? Probably because Marcus was taking forever to get to the docks. Maybe he’s going to pop out of one of those crates and try to scare the living daylights out of me. Ha! There’s a bad expression for a vampire to say. I checked my watch 4:01 PM. GAH!!!! I hate waiting!!! I don’t even know why I came this early! I guess it was to get away from Will before he asked me to explain my affair with Marcus one more time. For someone that’s lived for about 350 years he’s not always the brightest. I checked my watch again 4:02. Damnit!
“Ugh, I’ll just come back later!” I muttered to myself. I turned to walk away when I heard footsteps coming from behind me. I turned around and sure enough I saw the dirty blonde hair that can only belong to Marcus’s tan head. When he saw me I smiled politely and his forest green eyes widened with surprise and he smiled.
“Hey! I didn’t think Cam would’ve been able to tell you to come,” he said he stopped in front of me and I can hear he was debating whether he should kiss me or hug me or just stand there. Just stand there won the debate.
“Yeah she did, and she chose a REALLY inconvenient time to let me know.” I said bitterly.
“Why? What were you doing?” Marcus asked reluctantly. Ha! He thought I was on a date with some super-model-hot girl. Yeah, I wish!
“It wasn’t what I was DOING it was who was there…my cousin. He’s used to me having affairs with girls but he just freaked when Cam blurted out ‘By the way I ran into your male lover, Marcus. He wants you to meet him by the docks some night.’ And now I’m pissed off at her because after she left I had to explain what happened to my cousin about 25 times.” I said, really annoyed.
“Oh god, is your cousin a homophob?”
“No, it was just a shock to him cause he saw me as a ladies man. Now he’s gonna think I’m a man’s man.”
“Are you?”
“……..I don’t know…..”
“Oh…”
“What did you wanna tell me here?”
“Well, it would be good to tell you, but better to show you.” I just know noticed the brief case he was holding.
“Umm…..are you a businessman?”“Not even close.” he said opening the case. My eyes widened and my jaw dropped. In that brief case I saw a crossbow with 10 thin stakes lined up besides it.
“Holy $h it…” I muttered. I am SO dead…again!
“Ha! That’s what my mom said when I showed her,” he said closing the brief case o’ death, “So yeah, don’t think I’m crazy for saying this but…I’m a vampire hunter.”
“Umm….why?”
“Long story short, when I was 11 my best friend got turned and tried to kill me, I ended up staking her unintentionally and ever since I’ve been hunting the bloodsuckers.”
“Oh…um…sorry…about your friend…” okay even for my standards turning a kid is really low and stupid.
“Eh it’s okay wasn’t your fault.” Marcus said patting my back.
“So…um…how do you know when a vampire is close by?” Yeah I dared ask that question.
“Well…with this.” He pulled something out of his pocket and showed me a compass that had a lid on it, “it points to vampires instead of north. here I’ll open it up so you can see where the closest one is.” he started to open it, then without thinking I gave him a long hard kiss. Hey, I didn’t want to die again yet! I felt his body get tense with surprise then he relaxed and kissed back. It felt like an eternity before we pulled away from each other, I’m not sure whether it was good or bad eternity.
“What was that for?” Marcus said, adjusting his hair.
“um…I don’t know I guess I just…” I was saved from answering him by my phone ringing, It was Will, “Excuse me for a sec. Whaaaaaaaaaat?” I walked away from Marcus.
“Gabriel, Lilly stole Cam. She’s keeping Cam hostage somewhere in Portland.” Will said panicking.
“Portland, Maine or Portland, Oregon?” I smirked.
“PORTLAND, MAINE!!!!” Will yelled into the phone.
“Ow! Easy with the screaming into the phone I was just joking! Geesh!”
“Now is not the time to make jokes. CAM’S LIFE IS IN DANGER BECAUSE LILLY KIDNAPPED HER!!!!”
“Damnit, Lilly knows it’s my turn to torture you doesn’t she? Doing something terrible to Cam was my idea first!” I pouted.
“JUST HELP ME SAVE HER!!!” Will yelled.
“okay, okay fine just stop destroying my ear drum over the phone! Did she give you an address for Portland?”
“yeah. 264 Hollowwood St. Meet me outside the building in a few seconds.” Will said hanging up.
“Okay bye…” I said somewhat rudely. I looked back at Marcus. Will told me to meet him there in a few seconds, meaning to run there, and I’m standing in front of a vampire hunter that’s got the hots for me. Damnit. I glanced at his brief case and I realized he could help get rid of my rival, let’s hope he doesn’t kill me.
“Okay Marcus, listen. DO NOT KILL ME FOR SAYING THIS!!! I’m a vampire that needs your help slaying another vampire. That’s making something very difficult for me to do. So will you please help me?” I asked. Marcus’s face was filled with shock, horror, betrayal, and misery.
“What?” he gasped, he looked like he was fighting back tears.
“I’m a vampire, and I need your help, Cam’s life is in danger, so please just forget your hate for an hour?”
“Why? So I can spare your life? You know I should’ve realized you were a vampire! The night I met you this thing was going crazy but I didn’t suspect you because-” he didn’t even have to finish that sentence.
“Look Marcus, I care about you, I do really, and I need you to help me cause Will is probably going crazy wondering why I haven’t shown up yet.”
“…fine…I’ll help…but if there’s any human blood shed a vampire WILL be staked tonight understand?”
“Yeah. Now hop on my back and hold your breath. If you try to breath while I’m running there’s a good chance you’ll pass out.” I said turning away from him. I felt his weight on my back and he inhaled. Then in 2 seconds I was in front of Will.
“What the hell took you so long to get here???” Will whisper-yelled. Of course if he talked at normal volume Lilly would hear us.
“I recruited a vampire hunter to help us” I whispered gesturing to Marcus.
“You know you can be pretty stupid sometimes?” Will muttered.
“yeah well so can you. Now come on we’ve got a girl to save.”
We all started walking up the steps of the building as Marcus loaded his crossbow. It didn’t take a mind reader to know we were all thinking the same thing.
We hoped Cam was still alive.
