What Are Your Thoughts On the Whole Twilight vs Harry Potter Thing (Read Intro)

Ok so there has been a lot of controversy over which is better, Stephane Myer's Twilight series, or J.K Rowlings Harry Potter series. The commen response to this question has been that Twilight is better, however you must bear in mind that the majority of people being asked are teenage, American, girls. Of course their going to pick the magical love story with incredibly hot male leads! Also Twilight is prefered becasue of the whole Jacob verses Edward, vampire verses warewolf deal. It's not good against evil, it's good against good. No one can say "the warewolfs are the bad ones" becasue their not. Jacob and Edward are both totaly in their rights to have Bella's love, which is why this whole "team edward/jacob" thing happend. Personaly I'm sorta on both teams. When I read the books I'm on team Edward, but when I see the movies I'm on team Jacob. I can't help it, my teenage mind is drawn to a shirtless,tanned, muscular boy with tattos running through the forest. Anyway Twilight is great, but im my opinion if you look behind the magic of it, there isn't much there (please screaming fans dont come hit me with a shovel!). I mean it's a girl who is just under a spell of this creature that's purpose in life is to kill her! It seems weird to me that someone should be so captivated by someone only because of their beauty, and then she ends up marrying him and having a kid, and if he was ugly I doubt she would give him the time of day! With Jacob it seems different only because she liked him even when he had to wear the horrible wig in the first movie! Even when he wasn't strong or magical, she still liked him. Now for Harry Potter, and many people who take these sort of quizzes and just say without thought that they like Twilight better haven't even read Harry Potter yet, so please be fair and only comment if you have read BOTH series, or you can say your thoughts on Twilight, but dont say you like it better because you dont know. Harry Potter is three whole books longer then Twilight, which can be good or bad. For me some parts of Harry Potter sort of dragged on. The thing about this series is that there are so many different characters and events, you really are being introuduced into a new world. You learn a new language with "muggle" , "mudblood" , and if you're American you learn a bit about how the British speek, I never knew that to "snog" was to kiss, not to mention all the spells! It's a real journey from their first year at hogwarts, up until the finally. You really see how people change, and their are so many differnt perspectives! The story gets more and more complex as it goes on, and a conflict isn't always over with the end of the book. That's one of the things I love the most, that the books all intertwine. Now to compare the characters from each book. The main characters being Harry, and Bella. That's a hard one. I think I would have to chose Bella, only becasue for me Harry's character is nothing without Ron and Hermoine. For the villian there's Voldomort, and the Volturi. I think I would say Voldomort becasue of how ingenious he is! From spliting his soul into all those peices, to Tom Riddle, he just amazes me. Then their are the secondary characters. Ron and Hermoine, and the Cullen family. There I have to say the Cullen family. I just love them all! I even love Rosalie! Then I think I would compare Jessica and Angela to Luna Lovegood. Luna Love good is obviously better. Then Hagrid to Charlie, deffinatly Hagrid. So in conclusion I think I must chose that I like Harry Potter more, but both stories are fantastic!
