There is supposed to be a strong swear in there, but Quibblo made me take it out...T.T

Chapter 1

Excerpt Two: No Way Out

"Brandon," Little Jeremy cried, "Scott, Morgan, Evelyn."
Little Jeremy looked up at Luke, who had a lost look printed plainly on his face. They had lost their best friends, but to Jeremy, losing Brandon was like losing a father. Little Jeremy looked up to Brandon as a father and a role model, he had known the war veteran since he was two years old, and what made things worse was that Lieutenant Brandon E. Mitchell was Little Jeremy's godfather.
Luke dropped to his knees mext to Evelyn's dead and mangled body, torn to shreads by the zombies. He had known Evelyn since he was an infant, he had loved her like a sister. Losing her almost was the end of the world for him. Next to Evelyn lay his dead girlfriend Morgan, when both of those two fell into the mercy of the zombies, Luke lost it, broke down and cried his heart out in the never ending pain of losing his loved ones.
Scott was the only one that was still alive, but he was clinging to it by a thin thread, He crawled sluggishly toward his two weeping friends and gripped Luke's loose jacket sleeve. Luke looked down, with tears making wet trails of sorrow down his face, at his dying friend.
The raven haired teenager strengthened his grip on Luke's sleeve and, with all his strenght and will remaining, looked up at Little Jeremy and Luke, and told them in a voice almost inaudile, "Tell my mom I'll open the gates of Heaven for her, tell my dad that I have always loved him, even when he abused me and went to jail, and please; for the love of all that is holy in Heaven, please tell Nicole that I love her even after the world will end, " and with those final words, Scott's eyes closed, and he was gone.
"Scott?" Luke gripped his friend by his arms and shook his body, "Scott, wake up! Scott? Scott!"
"He's gone Luke," Little Jeremy whispered with tears running freely rom his eyes, "He's gone, he's not coming back."
"He can't be gone, Kelly!" Little Jeremy flinched at the venom in Luke's voice, "He can't be!" he broke down again and embraced his best friend's cold body and whispered, "He can't be."
"Luke, we need to get out of here, they'll be back...and they'll have him with them, no doubt," Little Jeremy walked over to Luke and placed a hand on his shoulder, "C'mon, we can't stay here, it's too dangerous."
"You just want to leave, is that it?" Luke turned on his smaller friend, "You just want to leave! You don't even care that our friends just died! You don't even care that I'll never see Morgan and Evelyn again! You don't care that Scott will never live to see his child born and grow up! I bet you don't even care that Brandon's dead!" Luke screamed in Little Jeremy's face.
"Don't put words in my mouth, Luke!" Little Jeremy yelled back, "Of course I care, but I also care about getting the fvck out of here. I'm worried about your own safety!"
Luke punched Little Jeremy in the face with full force, and the smaller boy fell onto the ground.
Little Jeremy looked up at his infuriated friend, shocked at what he just did. Jeremy had never been hit before. Jeremy's eyes filled to near overflowing with new tears. Luke stood over him, chest heaving, nostrils flaring, jaw set, with his eyes holding no emotion whatsoever and pitch black. Nothing in the world, not even an infuriated Godzilla combined with King Kong full of rage, could match Luke's anger.
Afraid of being hit again, LIttle Jeremy slowly stood his feet, not taking his eyes off of Luke. Luke's eyes told him that he didn't want to see him ever again. So, without a parting word, Little Jeremy turned and ran away.
Luke watched Little Jeremy's retreatingfigure disappearing in the fog. His mind blank and no emotion crossed his face. After five minutes, realizing what he had just done, he grabbed his gun off of the ground and ran after Little Jeremy, frantically looking for him.
"Jeremy!" Luke cried, "Jeremy, I'm sorry! Jeremy!"
Luke received no answer. He reached his trembling hand out and found a tree and leaned on its trunk, weak from his run and mourning.
"What have I done?" Luke looked up to the unseen Heavens and screamed, "Dear God Almighty what in the world have I done!? LITTLE JEREMY, I'M SORRY!"
Luke fell to the groun in a fetal position and started bawling.
