This is my first story. It is about some random people who do some stuff, pretty interesting. Yep. I sorta make it up as I go.

Chapter 1

No School?

I hate mornings. I pull myself out from under the warm blankets of my bed and set my feet on the cold wood floor. Trudging over to my dresser, I contemplate what to wear, It's cold, and I am tired and generally angry at everyone. I pick jeans, a baggy sweatshirt, and tennis shoes. This is going to be a long day. My hair is still wet from last night's shower. I leave it in a long braid down my back. I walk downstairs to find some breakfast. I find my mom sitting at the kitchen table.
"Joako!" she says.
"Hi, mom," I reply.
"You don't have school today!" she says. Whaaa?
"But... it's Thursday!" I say. My mom glances over at my dad, standing by the coffee maker.
"Maybe we should have told her earlier," she says.
"Eh, no time like the pr-present." he says, stifling a yawn.
"You're starting a new school tomorrow!"
"What!? Stop joking! It's not funny and I have to get to school." I exclam. My mom frowns.
"You don't believe us?" She asks.
"Of course not! It's crazy"
"Here, look at these." says my dad, handing me some glossy pamphlets.
"Okay," I say. I walk up to my room, glancing back at them as I do. I am still sure that they are joking, but if playing along lets me miss first period (gym) then play along I shall. I leaf through the pamphlets, they look real. They went to a lot of trouble to mess with me. The school "helps troubled children" (which I am not) through "social therapy." My mom hasn't come upstairs by the time second period would be starting, so it's time to nap. Get some good rest for school tomorrow. There has to be school tomorrow.
