Paws

"What a long day!" Paws creeps to the inside of his burrow,and lays down,thinking about the long day he had. He had spotted a two-leg man taking a walk in the woods. As he rests his head on his paws,he slowly falls asleep.

Paws is standing in a field."How odd." he says to himself. "A second ago,I was in my burrow!" Suddently,paws sees himself walking on two legs. "Am I...one of them?" He looks at his paws,only to be suprised that they have been replaced
by peach colored long stick-like things. Paws walks along the road."shouldent I be shocked by what im seeing?" But to him,this seems like the most natrural feeling in the world for him.

Paws wakes up with a start. he starts to look around,he still is in his burrow.
"what a dream!" he exclames to himself.Suddently,his head begins to spin ,and he has a feeling...a feeling that his dream will happen soon."what a odd happining,i must find a wise owl who can help me find out what this means."
As soon as he left his burrow,a bright red ball of light was there. Paws yiped in surprise. "Dont be afraid!" said the light. "My name is Vixen,i can help you train."she said"What in the forest are you talking about?" Paws yipped.
"Just follow me!" said Vixen and floated away.

Paws followed after her,wondering were she was leading him to.Paws saw Vixen in a clearing ahead.As he got close,Vixen said"Look here! two rocks that will serve well to train you in the art of fighting." Now Paws knew what she was talking about. "But how do I fight?" he yipped."Press down on your heels and preform a dash towards the rock,You then jump in the air and grab it,Then when you have grabbed the rock,you can bite,kick,or hit them".Said Vixen.You can do this to enemys too."Vixen swishes to the side."There are many more attacks
That you can do,these attacks are called power fights."

" Sounds Nifty!" Paws yipped.As Vixen floated away,Paws saw three rocks that he could practice on."Mabye she was right,mabye i do need to learn how to fight." paws yipped.He then swished his tail and dached toward a rock,it flew into the air,he leaped after the rock,gripped it with his two front paws,and kicked it with his two back legs.The rock instantly crumbled to peices.As Paws landed on the ground,he yipped in suprise at what he had done.

Paws went on his way to finding Vixen. He saw a bright red light shining ahead when he got near a stream.He sprinted toward her."Did you fare well against those dastarly rocks?" Vixen said."Yep,it's a bit tricky,but i'll learn,i think." Paws yipped. "Exellent! said Vixen."Keep following me!" and she floated away,again. As he chased her,she kept getting farther away.Then he lost her.

As Paws walked on,he saw a very odd creature.It looked like a rabbit,but instead of a face,it hade a red swirling pattren. It turned to look at him,dispite how it could even see.Vixen suddently appered by hise side."These beasts are not freindly,if you come close to them,they will attack you!" Vixen said.

"But what can I do against them?" Paws yipped."Stay calm.and remember,use
the moves you learnt at the rocks to defeat them." Vixen said then floated away.
Paws yipped in frusteration. "here goes nothing!" He yipped.As he bounded toward the beast,Two more appeard.Paws suddently stopped.One of the beasts
leaped at him and deliverd a kick to his head. Paws leaped backward in surprise,then he leaped over the beast and got a firm grip on another beast.It squealed loudy in surprise. Paws bit into its neck,drawing blood.He countinued to fight the beasts until there were none left.

Paws suddently rememberd that he needed to find a wise owl. He leaped out of the clearing and into the forest. He kept running,only to stop at the nearest
stream and take a drink. Paws finally spotted a owl resting on a oak tree branch. As he got closer,the owl opend it's eyes and said"Get away from me you pest,you will not rip apart my chest! My innards are my own;to you they will not be shown!" And quickly flew away. Paws chased after the owl,clearly knowing it is a wise owl,beacuse all wise owls say rythmes.As Paws caught up to the owl,he saw that he was sitting on another oak tree branch."Calm down,
wise one,I only want to ask you something." yipped Paws."Very well,but make
it fast! There are others,who from my branch have me cast!" Hooted the owl.

"I awoke this morning from a strange dream."yipped Paws."I saw myself as one of the two-legs,like those who live beyone the woods."
"You mean those who hunt us for sport? I wonder why with them you would consort..." Hooted the owl.And flew off again.Paws sighed and began looking
for the wise owl again.When he found the owl again,he said"Stop flying away like that!"The owl hooted and said"We make all these noises,a predator may hear.Just follow along and stay near. Then rose and floated away again.

Paws countinued to chace after the owl,then he found himself in a clearing.The owl,once again,was sitting on a oak tree branch."When i woke up,I also hade this strange feeling,that the dream was something that will happen." yipped Paws. The owl hooted and said"This sounds familiar,to one of my ancestors
this has happend once before so similar."Paws yipped in counfusion,
"Ancestors?"The owl hooted"Have you ever ponderd why we are so wise and knowing? Why everyone at use are thier questions throwing?"Paws swished his tail in aggrement."Every owl is hatched with the ken of those who came before;
we know all the ins and out and lore."hooted the wise owl. Then flew off again.
Paws was getting tired of chasing the owl,but he ran once again after the owl.

When Paws found the owl again,he was sitting on another oak tree branch.
"It is but a shade,but from my memory,some sence can be made." the owl hooted."A very long time ago,before men made homes here,another creature of the forest this call did hear." hooted the owl."So....you know where i must go?
What i must do?"yipped paws."Not at all,but some.There is a glade,in the green woods,that waits for you to come." hooted the owl once more.There,more help you will find,if you so wish to leave you own kind."Then,the owl flew off once more.Paws wonders what the owl ment by"if you so wish to leave you own kind"

Paws chased the owl again.When Paws found the owl(guess what,he was sitting on another oak tree branch!)He asked"Do you mean the place
where trees are green,where the sun leaves for the day?"The owl hooted again.That is right,I think. Just be careful,so that you into the blue marsh dont sink."Paws shuttered and said"Thank you,wise one. I will not foget this favour!"The owl said,one last time"The best of wishes to you kind beast.
May the evils of this world upon your soul not feast..."Tucked his head under his wing,and went to sleep.
Paws went on his merry way. He walked on until he spooted a rabbit(a ordanary one). He dug his heels into the dirt,then sprang onto the rabbit,sunk his sharp teeth into its neck,then had a victory feast upon his killing.

Paws countinues until it was sundown,He needed to find shelter soon.
And soon enought he did,it was a cosy little clearing,with strawberries,he lay down and rested his head on his paws until he fell asleep.

Paws woke up to a big black beast with dark blue eyes. He leaped up almost instantly. The beast looked like it hadent eaten in a week,paws knew he would be its next killing if he didnt kill it first. Paws snarled at the beast.
The beast growled and lunged at Paws. He leaped up just as the monster came down.Paws leaped at the back of the beast and bite the hind area.
The beast barked and threw Paws off,then it leapt on Paws and tried to bite his neck area,but paws twister his head around at the last second and bite the beasts neck instead.
Paws didnt let go until he knew the black monster had died fure sure,giving a last yelp of succses before the beast died.paws let go and went off the find the herb his mom taught him to find and eat if he was hurt.eating that kind of herb helped to heal your cuts.Might as well begin walking again and searching for the herb.At long last,Paws found a herb at the swamps edge.Paws began eating it,soon,he felt better.As paws countinued into the swamp,He
saw a lot of bones which used to belong to the poor creatures who lived here.As Paws got deeper into the swamp,he saw many trees that looked sick.and the sandy road was turning into brown,watery goo.Paws snorts in discust,But
he countinues on.

Paws keeps walking when,suddently,a rabbilt dashes in front of him.Paws instantly goes for the rabbit,only to spot a large bat-like creature chasing after the rabbit to,only its coming fter him!Paws yips in surprise as he ducks its swooping claws.As the flying beast swoops again,paws leaps up,only to be scrached in the face with its huge claws.Paws growls in anger.
As it swoops again,paws dashed underneath it,causing the suprised beast to go flying in the air.And just like Vixen taught him,he leaps in the air after it and sinks his claws into it,then smashing its wing with his two hind legs.

Paws goes to the broken and crumbled creature laying on the ground to finish it off."Why not" Paws says to himself."Its eat,or be eaten." Paws chuckles at his joke and countinues up the muddy path. Not long after that,Paws came across a very muddy lake. he heard a raspy voice say"The change...again?A new
one...."Paws swished his tail."What? What...are you? The creature had big yellow eyes.it had bat like teeth,and it was huge.Paws growled.

"Time goes past,I lay asleep"The beast said."now that the new one walks, I rise again..."Paws was frightened."I..I just want to go past" He yipped."So long
since the new one's here.For the first time in millenna,I feast again!" It said.
"What in the forest is this thing talking about?" Thought paws. Then the beast
Rose out of the mucky water.And little beasts began crawing out of the murky swamp water towards Paws."what in the forest...". Paw's tail swished.
(this would be funny to see wierd lopsised creaturers hobbling out of the water if they were not coming FOR you).Paws was horrified by how many there were.
Paws didnt have time to think,he went into killing mode,Snapping off the heads on the tiny but horrifieng creatures.He saw the beast rising behined him."What in the forest...." he said.The beast gave a large growl.Paws instantly attaked
the beast in fright.The beast gave a ear-spliting howl.Paws went for a ear.
He clamped his jaws and ridded the ear off.The beast Howled in pain."Noo!
How...?" The beast began to sink into the mud.Paws stayed long enough to hear its last words."I will find you again,little one,I..will...find..you.."
Paws then bolted out of there,as fast as he could,with his fluffy tail between his legs.
When paws got to the edge of the swamp,still shivering,he desided to catch some food,than get away as far as possible from the swamp.
He begane walking and saw a odd rabbit creature again.
When Paws creeped close enought,he leaped and went for the neck,then bit into it,instantly killing it.Paws then dug into his tasty meal.Paws then walked along until he got to a field,beond the field,he saw a cave that he could use to spend the night,that is,if there are no beasts in there. Paws shudderd,thinking about that swamp creature.paws went inside the cave,hoping there wasint any
creatures inside.Paws walked inside,his tail swishing.He heard water dropping
but,other that that,it was quiet.He followed a tunnel until he saw a cave room.
Paws walked inside,and,to his surprise,found himself facing a pack of wolves.
He got into attack mot,just in case if the wolves wernet very freindly.
The tallest wolf said"It has always been there.."Paws answerd"Who? I just
want to find the glade...."

"The creature in the swamp....it has been there since before the pack..."The wolf said. "You should be safe now,you said something of a glade?"
Paws shook his tail in aggrement."Yes,i was told there should be one in this forest." Paws yipped."The pack knows many such places..."The wolf said."But you are looking for the one with the waters.."Paw was counfused."The waters?
Where is it?"The wolf howled."At sunrise,follow your shadow,it will lead you there."The wolf looked around.:If you will cause no trouble,you may stay the
night here,far away from the swamp."Paws yipped in thank you."Thank you for
your hospitality,kind one."The wolf lay down"few have made it past the creature
.Think nothing of it,sleep..."Paws lay down near a soft pach of grass.Thinking
about all he went through until,finally,he fell asleep.

Paws woke up,the sun was just going up.Paws stood up,shook himself awake,
and took a look around.The wolves were gone.Paws saw a back entrance in the cave,so he went out it.The forest was lush with berries and trees.Paws walked on,enjoying the gourgeous forest plands,and stopping to pick a few and eat them.As he was walking along,he fell into a ditch full of thornes."Great" He yipped,"Now how am i going to get out?"He swished his tail,bad idea,Paws yipped in pain as his tail got pricked by thorns.Paws saw a rock on the other side.He jumped on the vines,avoding the thorns.He stepped into two thorns,but he made it across.He leaped on the rock and tried to get out.
No luck,he put one back paw on the dirt wall,then got ready to leap across the thorns th the other side,it was less steep.Paws jumps,and reaches the top.he climbs out,then he jumps to the other side."Almost didnt make it.." he mumbles to himself as he stops to eat the herb to make himself feel better.

Paws goes on until he sees a lake."I think this is it!" he yippes.
He wades into the water.He sees golden two-leg statues.Some were holding a gold pot,and some were just.....painful to look at,A two-let trying to get out of the water before he got turned into gold,a hand sticking out of the water.
Paws shivers slightly.He sees glowing blue and red lights.Suddently,Paws feels weird all over.He looks down at himself."How odd" Paws says"I still have my tail,But i have two-leg child feet."Paws looks up and sees a red light coming toward him.Could it be...?

"Vixen!" yipps Paws.As Vixen gets closer,she says "Greed..."
Paws listend."Greed is what did this.The hearts of men are full of it,so when
they bathed in the changling waters,they tuned into what they most desired."
Paws yipped."But you....you desired to change.."Paws yipped in counfusion.
Vixen countinues to speak."Unfortunately,the waters can only chanse so much.
After all these...there was barly anything left..."Paws yipped"This isnt right....
my dream!"Vixen shwishes to his other side."You'r..one of them?Didnt you
know the time has come again.."Vixen glowed brightly."Listen caurfuly.for
soon we will be gone,asleep whilst another pond is empowerd."Paws yipped.
"What must i do?"Vixen swayed.:There are several places like this,you must
find the next one."She said.Unfortunately,we do not know where it is"

Paws yipped"Where is it?"Vixen Swished again."There is an old man,one of
the humans.He is...related to the first of them who stepped into the waters."
Vixen said."He will know where you must go."Paws yipped.Vixen countinued.
"Seek an abandones house on top of a gray hill.Inside,he will be waiting for you"Vixen said."It is near one of the large towns here,but beware of the humans,they know not what you are.."Vixen swished again.Men fear what they
cant understand..."Paws barked. "But where.."

"Fare thee well,young one.." Vixen said,then floated away.
Paws looks down,he was standing on water!"Interesting" He said to himself.
"Now I need to find the town,than the man." Paws walked on in his new form.
He kept on walking,after a short while,he came upon a odd twisted set of rocks leading upward.(stairs)

Paws went up them and at the top,he found a old two-leg woman.
Paws went up to her.:Hello little one,what are you doing out here,all by yourself?"She said."I can understand!" Paws thought."She cant really see me,her eyes must be bad."Paws said"I am looking for someone.."
The old, kind woman spoke"Who might that be?I may know,I've lived around
these parts for so many years..."Paws said"Its an old man,he lives in a house
on top of a gray hill."
The old,kind woman said"Ah,such a nice man he is,very solitary,but nice.."
She said."Just follow this road,and take the last left before the village and
you'll find the house..."Paws thanked her,and went on to his way to the village,
