Should he have been allowed to play football again?

A popular football player was caught running a dogfighting ring with a couple friends. Many dogs were killed and injured during the fights, the football player was set to jail for nineteen months. After being let out he is let on a different football team and works with human societies against animal cruelty. Should he have been allowed to play again, even though is actions caused many lost lives? Has he really changed or is he just playing it up to get his fans back? COMMENT PLZ
