The Nightmare Saga: Dusk
Abril has just moved to New York City against her will. Feeling all alone in a private school, Abril has no choice but to put on a fake smile. Secrets are held by the two cutest boys in school, who are complete opposites. But...what is it that makes Abri so very drawn to both of them?
Chapter 1
Arrival
Peering at the large freeways and busy streets of New York, I realized I would never see my friends again. Horns bleeped, kids were screeching, it was my worst nightmare coming to life. The only hope my brown eyes gazed upon was Central Park. There seemed to be the only trees around there.
The worst part about leaving Huntsville, Texas, was that I had moved a thousand miles away from my life. My school, my smelly gym, and my everything. I had grown up there, I was moving away from my childhood.
"Great town, eh?" My father urged, grasping my hand. The cab wasn't something I was used to, I had never been inside one in my entire 16 years of life. It was cramped, though it was just me, my mom, my dad, the cab driver, and my brother, Dustin.
The taxi reached my family's small apartment in Brooklyn, gazing around at the small space, I gasped. It was breathtaking, but yet terrifying. The leaves just spoke of Autumn, something you never get in Texas.
"Are you new?" An angelic voice cooed, the body of a boy my age was behind me. Nodding, we locked eyes. His hazel eyes were just, hypnotizing.
"I'm Dusk," the boy said, flipping his perfect brown hair. He held out his hand for me to shake, as I did he gently said, "A pretty girl like yourself can't be carrying his heavy luggage can she?" Picking up my bags from beside me, he asked, "May I help?"
"I don't mind," the words just slipped from my mouth. How could I be so rude? Dusk smiled politely, his fair skin glowing in the cool fall atmosphere New York had. As mom walked beside me, I whispered "I think it's not going to be so bad." Giggling, my mother stroked my hair and opened the door.
"Would you like to carry the luggage inside?" She asked Dusk.
"Thank you," Dusk whispered, walking inside.
"So, Abril, do you like New York?"
"How do you know my name?"
"You told me."
"Dusk, I never told you my name, how do you know it?"
"Lucky guess."
Forgetting my words, I gazed at the pale blue walls of my new shelter for the first time.
"Do you like New York?" Dusk repeated. Nodding, I turned to him.
"So, how do you know my name?"
"Abril is a common name." Dusk's lying was about as good as I am with manners.
"Yeah, that explains how I'm the only Abril I know."
"Drop it, okay?" Dusk's tone sounded aggressive, like he was about to hit something, which I was hoping would not be me.
"Sorry, I guess." I sat down on the bare floor of my living room, Dusk staring at me. "You can sit down." Dusk sat down beside me, seeming distracted. "Dude, what is it?"
"Nothing, I was just thinking about the proper way to welcome you to New York." My face turning red, I looked at my little brother, his big green eyes looked just like my dad's.
"Dustin, you're four years old, you can talk to Dusk." Dustin just stared at Dusk, as if reading him.
"Gotta run. Um, can we hang out tomorrow?" Dusk asked, looking deeply into my eyes.
"Sure, can you come here?"
"Okay, neighbor." The word had puzzled me for a second: I was living next door to this amazing guy? Since when was the universe so kind?
"See ya'!" We both said as he walked out the door. It all happened so fast, I wish I could slow it down. And maybe then I would be able to get some sleep that night not thinking "STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!" for some odd reason.

Since it's only Sunday, I wont officially be a rich snob going to a fancy school until Wed. Seems like forever considering who I just met, and I'm not sure if that person goes there or not....more d-tails on that l8ter!!!
