time 2 shine
Chapter 1
1
I walked up long stone path, and up to a mansion next to a huge three-story school. This is where I am going to live? my dad was killed when I was three and my mom passed away yesterday so this is where I ended up. I tried to be optimistic, at least I wouldn’t be moved from house to house here. I would stay here until I was eighteen and then they would help me find a job and pay for an apartment for the first year.
I pressed the doorbell, which had the tune of “Jesus loves me,” and an old woman who looked to be in her mid 50s said, “Hello welcome to the shining kid’s home for girls and boys. I’m Bree the maid.” she was about five feet tall, large blue eyes, and was vary skinny. “Um, hi I’m Ally?” I hoped she knew who I was. “Oh, so you’re Ally. Come in, come in.”
I followed her through the double doors and into what must be the kitchen because it looked just like a cafeteria. A big bulletin board said today’s diner was honey ham, stuffing, and milk/juice. As I imagined the picture my mouth started to water. I wonder if I missed diner. “Diner is in two hours. We have breakfast at 7:00A.M and diner at 5:00P.M, and no snacks after that, but you can have water.” Bree said.
She led me down a large, pink hall on the first floor and stopped at a door that said “Ally and Lilly’s room”. the next hall was blue so I guessed that that was a boy’s hall. It just went back and forth: pink, blue, pink, blue. “Who is Lilly?” I asked. “She is the little five year old you get to take care of. She moved in today. She is just getting out of daycare in about five minutes.” hold it. What? I looked at her with confused eyes. “Kelly will tell you everything. Here she comes now.” Bree left and Kelly came. “Hi you must be Ally,” she said. Kelly was the opposite of Bree. She was maybe four feet tall, brown hair, and green eyes. But she was as skinny as Bree. “yes, but I’m a little confused. I have to take care of a five year old?” I said, “Oh yes that. Well your thirteen and every one twelve and older must take care of a kid five or younger. She was next on the list.” oh, well ok. That clears things up. “So when do I get to meet her?” I asked
