Twins

-Preface-

Suddenly I was frozen. Petrified with fear. I glanced into his deep blue eyes, and without words, I knew. He was also frozen, unable to stop me. I looked back at her. I forced myself forward. One step, two, three. Untill I was face to face with her. I could feel my heartbeat quicken. She smiled a menacing smile as I flinched involintarily. I heard him call my name as vampire fangs pierced my neck. Soon after, everything went dark.

I awoke with a start on a bright Friday morning. Another nightmare. For five years, five years, they have been frequantly ruining my slumber. I sighed and forced myself to get up, as I did every morning. There was always a routine in my life, barely anything changing. I took a quick and warm shower, then threw on a black tanktop, a purple and black checkered skirt, black stiletos, and a dark denim jacket. I blow dryed my hair and brushed through it, putting it in a quick yet flawless ponytail. I ran downstairs, grabbed my black bookbag, grabbed my keys, walked out of the tiny house, locked the door, got into my car, and drove away, not bothering to eat anything. This was the norm for me.
My name is Marissa Pierce. I got to Roseanne Highschool in a little town outside of Mystic Falls, called Vamp. It was speculated that we got this name because of Mystic Falls' "animal attacks". Pssh. I was the only one, I thought, that knew the truth. Five years ago, my family was slaughtered by a vampire. They weren't really my family, just another group home. So I've lived on my own since I was thirteen and they let me out of the mental institution. Not that anyone knows.
This...is my life.
So right about now I was walking up the steps of Rosie High (that's what my friends and I called it). As everyday, all of the guys were staring at me. Though, there weren't many people there. I was early, as always, seeing as I was a Rosie cheerleader. Not that there's much to cheer for, though.
"Hey Rissa! I thought you were going to miss practice today!" called my blonde best friend, Sall. We called her Sall because her real name was Sally, and she hated it.
I shook my head, causing my long and dark burnette hair to whip around. "Not then, not now, and not ever Sall." I smiled at her as I sat down, and she beamed back. "So, how was your date last night? You know, the one with Jay you bragged about all day yesterday?"
She giggled. "Fun."
I shook my head again, laughing. "Though, you have been together a while... Six months, right? Did he give you that??" I slid my hand over to get a better look at her new diamond necklace. And boy, did I mean new!
She giggled again, causing the diamonds to shimmer brightly. "Six months last night! And yes! He drove me to the beach, and at sunset he gave it to me!"
I smiled brightly for her. "You're so lucky!"
She laughed and nodded. She knew she was.
"Rissa! Sall!" someone called. We turned our heads to see our other best friend, Becca. She had long light brown hair.
"Hey Becca." I stated as she did a fabulous cartwheel and landed right next to me.
"Guess who just asked me out?!" she asked us, acting like a five year old who had just been given a thousand dollars to spend on the newest toys in ToysRus.
"Um...let's see." I glanced around dramaticly. "Was it Luke?"
She nodded and did a quick backflip.
I chuckled at her childish antics. "Congrats." I stood up. "Okay, girls. Break times over. Time for practice." I called to all of the cheerleaders. I was the cheer-leader. Captain you might call it. I turned on some music. "First routine, one!" I called.
A hundred claps, stomps, flips, cartwheels, and kicks later, we heard the bell ring for first period.
"Alright. See you all after school." I stated to all the Rosie's. I grabbed my stuff and Becca, Sall, and I walked to class.
Being the head cheerleader seemed to make me the most popular person in school. I was constantally getting compliments, on my clothes, my shoes, my hair, my bag, my car, my necklace, and yet, the most interesting were the ones on my bracelet. It was given to me by my mother, even though I never knew who she was. It's laced with vervain, which, if given contact to a vampire's skin or blood system, is lethal. It's a magnifiscent design, really. Pure gold and sivler woven together flawlessly with slight impressions of things like the vervain plant, fangs, a wooden stake, you know, things of that nature. Though, I never let anyone too close to see, or I'll be having to awnser questions that I honestly have no clue how to awnser.
First period Gym. Second period History. Third period Geometry. Fourth period Science. Lunch. Fifth period Launguage Arts. Sixth period Guitar. Seventh period Reading. Cheerleading Practice. This is my day. Actually, all of my classes are advanced, I just don't mention it.
"Hey, Rissa, wanna come over?" Becca asked me, snapping me out of my thoughts after practice.
"Hm? Sure." I said, smiling.
