Chapter 1

Ch.1;; (this one is actually kinda short)

by: 7erra
"Out of all the places in the United States, you made me move to Hicksville." My mother looked at me scornfully as she grabbed a box out of the trunk. "Do you really think I wanted to move to Oklahoma? It's a job thing, and besides, we have family here."
My mom had gotten a movie offer and her agent told her it was the role of a lifetime. I still don't know much about it, but apperently it's going make a lot of money. Bad part? They were filming in Oklahoma City. And of course, after I pleaded with her for days, she decided to be a roryal biznitch and take the job.
You see, I'm from Hollywood, California. I'm used to movie stars and singers and five-star restraunts. I don't know who would want to film a movie here instead of the movie making capitol of the world. They should've just stayed in Hollywood.
I yanked the box out of her hand and started up the drive, my ankles being trampled over by Lex.
"Ow!" I yelped. Her claws had decided to extract just a moment before she attcked my feet again. "Stupid cat." I mumbled, picking her up and carrying her inside as well. As I crossed the porch I felt a sharp pang of home-sickness. "It'll be fun, darling." Mom walked up and put her arm around me. "You'll love Oklahoma! There's . . . Um . . . nothing to do." Giggling, she walked inside. "Gee, thanks. Nice pep talk." I called after her. She threw her head over her shoulder, smirked, and said "If it makes you feel any better Saphira, I'll let you get first pick at bedrooms." I ran. The master bedroom's mine.

" . . . and my toothbrush." I stated happily, placing it in the cup on the master bathroom sink. "Okay, that makes two sections done." Boxes were piled up against the wall and on top of my bed.
In the corner Lex had her bed, food, water, and scratch toy. That was the first thing I accomplished upon unpacking. She just got so jumpy, so I figured I'd make her feel more at home. Although it took a total of thirty seconds, I counted it as a section to feel good about myself.
I shoved a few boxes off my mattress and plopped down on it. "I can't believe I'm stuck here. In three weeks I'm turning eighteen and so the biznitch moves me out to Oklahoma where I have no friends I can party with on my birthday. Jesus Christ. School starts on monday too." I turned over on my side to look at Lex in her corner. "What am I going to do?" It was then that I realized that I'm talking to a cat. I've been here for five hours and I'm already starting to go insane. Looking at my alarm clock lying the ground, pulled the sheets over myself and started to drift away.

Goodbye Hollywood, hello Hicksville.
