Halfway in between, twisted little thing -BRUTAL-
Here's just a little story I came up with. Yes, I did see the title on Myspace a while back, but the story is quite different.
Information:
Name: Adonia
Age: 17
Background: Adopted as a baby, still unaware. Foster mother died in a driving accident due to weather. Father, a former drug addict and alcoholic, uses abuse , emotionally and physically with Adonia.
Personality: Sarcastic, quiet, pessimistic and curious. Not very social.
Chapter 1
The Fallen
A silent night. Fog simply enveloped the lighting above Adonia as she walked. She could hear the forest's ambiance beyond the sidewalk. The leaves rustled, the sound of running water reached through all the area. Tall trees stood all around both sides of the streets, the only place to go was back or forward.
Adonia shivered, and rubbed her arms, huffing her breath as she did. She never did have a patient attitude, only when mom was around was she never like this. She usually smiled, occasionally cracked her own jokes and enjoyed them along with her mom. But now, Adonia has barely any heart to grin.
She continued walking, the sound of her footsteps echoed in the dark abyss she traveled parallel with. It wasn't until she a heard an even more distracting rustle that she finally stopped and faced the forest.
Her eyebrows furrowed, annoyed. A slight opening of her mouth and she saw the warm breathe flow out in front of her as she continued to breathe. It may seem coincidental, but Adonia watched as the steam aimed towards the forest.
Shaking her head as the skeptic she was, she continued to walk. She felt irritated. She didn't have the desire to go home, to be neglected or hurt, where she wanted to go she could not.
Adonia never did believe in hope, or luck, she simply believed that there was logic, and that was all. Science and proof. When something good or bad occurred she blocked out the possibilities of anything that you couldn't prove physically.
Dragging her feet across the walkway to the tiny, impossible house, she felt as if someone had eyes on her. Almost immediately, she paused and stood for a moment. It seemed as if she was trying to reclaim herself as she inhaled deeply right before the stairway to the wooden front door.
But, of the corner of her eye, she studied the environment surrounding her. Nothing moved that seemed out of the ordinary.
The bushes swayed in the slight breeze of the humid wind, leaves brushed against the floor as they fell from October's decaying trees.
Normal. Everything was normal.
Adonia struck herself mentally, almost scolding her own self for casually having a slight fear of something completely unrealistic.
She did this often, as a child even, for fearing of looking under the bed she's been sent to retrieve or walking down the school hallway alone. All, of which were irrational fears, even for my age, she told her self perpetually.
As she sighed, after holding her breath for an unimaginable amount of time, she took one step up the stairs and aimed towards the door.
The cold handle sent a chill up her arm, one she easily ignored. As she pushed through, she didn't bother to stick around to study the room, much less what woman was in it this time.
She crept up the stairs, wincing at the sound of the piercing creak between each step. Now she was tip-toeing, wishing her dad wouldn't hear her from the living room. One more step and she was out of there.
Unfortunately, her hand slapped the side of the railing, and with that she closed her eyes and held her breath.
"Adonia?" A monotone, and rather seducing voice called out.
A slight giggle followed, making Adonia shiver while rolling her eyes.
She quietly, lightly stepped up the last stair and made her way to her room, which so happened to be at the end of the hall.
Another call, "Adonia?" This time, a little less calm.
She grazed the wall delicately as she felt for the indent for the door. After feeling the opening, she instantly grabbed the knob and pushed.
Cool air hit her face and she let out everything she held in. Practically hyperventilating, she held her arms up to her chest and felt the knocking of her heart against her chest.
Stop, she thought, Stop.
As her heart slowed, she closed her eyes and gulped down fear. Adonia always had an encounter with fear at least once everyday, and, like anyone, she never enjoyed the feeling.Although, she could always hide her emotions effortlessly.
As Adonia made her way to her bed, she stumbled over many objects.
Under her breath, she scolded herself for all the noise.
With a loud thump, which sounded as they were coming from the stairs, Adonia's heart began to speed up again. Eyes, fully dilated, hands and legs trembling.
It was as if she didn't want to move, her body wouldn't respond to anything her mind was commanding it to do, so there, she remained planted.
With a burst through the door, Adonia jumped, but remained expressionless.
Her father, Adrian, drunk and disorderly, stumbled through the door. With a grim on his face and a furrowing brow, he stared at Adonia, from head to toe. He seemed to be studying her.
Afraid, she took one step back.
Big mistake.
"Where the... have y-you... been-n?" He choked out, using the doorway to hold himself up.
Adonia stared at him, angry, frustrated. Shaking her head, she faced the floor, noticing all the objects she tripped over on her way in earlier.
Sniffling, he started, " I'v-ve been so...l-lonely without you, I need your company-y." He walked towards her, unevenly.
She quickly looked around and hesitated for the few seconds she had to get away. As she tried backing away, she realized she had no where to escape.
Muttering under her breath, she felt the wall against her now.
"No..no way o-out..." She muttered under breath.
He was now only inches away from her face now. The smell of beer and smoke carried throughout the area. Adonia felt it envelope her lungs, making her feel weak. She staggered at his uncomfortable touch. He gripped her hip with one arm and neck with the other, silently leading her down to the bed.
