The young woman looked over her shoulder, they were coming nearer. She could see the faint yellow glow of the torches. It felt like the heat of the fire burned in her back, sticking her with adrenaline. The way up to the big white building seemed to long an eternity. Every step felt like a strike on her whole being, discourage her to go farther. The sound of Iron and bronze clattering on each, men voices yelling at each other, yelling at her, made her blood clot.
The little girl in her arms tried too understand what was going on. Her big frightened eyes were full of tears. She clutched on the young woman like her live was depending on it. What it was. Arrows were flying past her head, whistling like a storm. The woman cried when one of the arrows almost hit her. With her last powers she reached the big steps of the temple, knowing that safety was near. The cool marble of the trusted building gave her new energy. Still the way upstairs was a hell, every moment an arrow or spear could hit her. Make her fall. Make her fail.
Her muscles protested with a unbelievable pain. She was halfway when she saw them; hundreds of men, full armored, with pure hate in there eyes, all focused on the little girl, all focused on her death. The red bear on the flag was a nightmare, how many times had she saw it in her sleep? Knowing that the bear would get the little girl, tear her apart like a rag doll. Laughing at her, when she tried to run to them, running without reaching, seeing how she failed, seeing how she died.
And then, she arrived inside the trusted temple. She looked at the men, who were so near her that she could smell the blood on their swords. The tears were rolling down her cheeks. She just could them coming nearer to her, to the girl in her arms. She screamed from the inside, she felt like every piece of her was on fire. Her head exploded. She ran and ran, but then there was the end and she was trapped. “Lady… Lady… please… please…”
And than it happened, the man reached the top of the stairs and then they fell. They smashed into something that seemed a wall. Only, there was no wall. They were standing up again, with faces of disbelieve, trying to figure out what was happening. Their hands pushed into the nothing, stopped by the mysterious force.
More and more arrived at the temple and there eyes were pointed too the little girl that they couldn’t reach. The little girl was looking at the men in terror.
The young woman laid down her silk cape on the altar, making a soft bed of the size of the little girl. Than she grabbed in her pocked and got out a little flacon with a silver liquid. She pulled the cork out of the little bottle and looked at it with fear. “Will?” The little girl turned her head to the woman. “I want you to drink this.” tears fell over her cheeks while she tried to look in the little girls eyes. “Its very, very important.” She moved the bottle to the girls and forced het to drink it. The woman looked at the men, screaming, and shooting furious looks at her. The she saw something that made her blood froze. With all the body trying to find weak places at the invisible wall some swords swung through. A men followed her eyes and than screamed “it only holds body’s!” The girl’s eyes became heavy and she tried to fight the sleep.
The lest thing she noticed was a flying arrow and the sound of glass fall on the ground
