Sweet Oddity

This was one of my favorite dreams.

Chapter 1

Unkown Happiness

by: Special
I opened my eyes and a smile spread across my face. The world around me looked like a world that Tim Burton himself designed. I looked down at myself to check if I was hurt. I was wearing a fitted black top, black ripped jeans, and my black converse. For accessories, I was wearing black fingerless gloves, a checkered belt, and a black collar. I giggled and looked around at my surroundings. It looked like I was in an Old English city that looked like it was designed and decorated by the people of Halloween Town. I didn't know how I got in these clothes or the world that I was in, but I liked it

My smile remained on my face as I continued down the street. Lamp posts were lit down the street and they were some of the many other sources of light I had. I would spin around lamp posts and I would look inside windows of some houses. I never really saw anybody but I saw shadows move but something told me not to be afraid. Candles were lit inside the houses, the lamp posts were all lit, and also there were these weird blue light balls flying around. There were also many creatures in this world. I felt a loneliness twinge inside me because I didn't know anybody or knew anything. I then felt something around my waist, I looked and saw it was a snake, a boa to be exact. I giggled as I felt it slither around my waist and up me. I was laughing because it's flickering tongue kept hitting my skin and it was tickling me.

Feeling kinda better about myself, I started down the street again. I was amused to see the magical things of this realm. I watched black cats with fancy top hats walk down the sidewalk. Pocket watches with bat wings flew over the buildings and over my head. Zombie looking dogs were sitting outside some of the shops with their skeletal smiles, attempting to invite people inside the store. I pet one of their heads and continued down the sidewalk. As I walked, one of the cats (a particularly fluffy one) stayed with me and walked in step with me. The boa was now wrapped comfortably around my neck, it's head resting on my shoulder.

I felt compelled to get in one of the cars and drive around town instead of walk. My feet were tired, even though it felt like I just walked for a few minutes. I looked at the faces of the bat-clocks and it said I had walked for two hours. Weird. I jumped into one of the cars and got behind the wheel. I can not explain in words how the car looked, all I can say is that it looked old and cool. The cat hopped and curled up in my lap when I ignited the engine. I drove down the street and looked at the shops as I passed. There were many different kinds of shops but none of them really caught my interest. I kept driving down the twisting streets and the cat purred contently in my lap. I looked down at it and stared at its hat, I really wanted to take it, but I thought better. I decided to not get between a cat and its hat and keep driving instead.

Without knowing it or to my control, the car started to go faster and faster. I even took my foot completely off the gas and pressed the brake but nothing happened. It's not like we were out of control, the car still turned smoothly, it was just I didn't have control over the speed. We went faster and faster and faster until everything around was practically a blur. I felt the snake around my neck life its head and rub it against my cheek lovingly. I did a soft smile and I also felt the cat rub its head against my arm and meow. I felt my eyes growing heavy and I was starting to get very sleepy. I felt the wind brushing against my face gently and I felt the warmness of the cat in my lap and the snake around my neck. I yawned and slowly closed my eyes.
