Summary
Lily knows she is cursed. She can see and talk to the dead. She can tell when evil is near. She gets violent, vivid nightmares that leaves her with gashes and bruises across her body. She can see tragic scenes that will happen in the future.
Not to mention, her mom, the only help and friend, died from an unknown cause...and the people of Chicago are convinced she was the one her did it.
So when her step father, Sean, moves her and her stepbrother far away to the isolated New Haven, Vermont. There, Lily hopes to have a new, fresh start. She knows that everything will get better.
But in reality, everything is going to get a hell of a lot worse for her life.

Lily is a Guardian, a step between being an angel and being human. She has a special job to do but is reluctant to get it done. Her appearance is above. She's dark, gothic, but instead, she doesn't believe in labels. She turns 16 on the 24th of december, so she's in 10th grade.

Prologue
Everything seems to change around me. Now, with my life, that doesn't mean to say it gets better, which it never does. It either goes steady or it plummets into utter disappointment. Or, if I think about it, it goes steady THEN plummets. That's just how it works for me, sadly.
But, then again, I've learned a few tricks to get through all of this. I now know that i don't have to face anything alone. I realize that there are people who will stand by me and try to keep me alive. I know keeping something rather important about me isnt the way to go at anytime. But do you want to know the biggest piece of information Ive learned to keep me alive?
Its that love always breaks evil, not matter how strong that evil is.
