[There's A Vampire In The School!]
This is a new story I'm creating. I just thought of it randomly. It's basically talking about a teenaged girl who lost her whole family, and is trying to cope with being the only one left.
Chapter 1
Chapter 1 - New Life
(Just a reminder: if you haven't read the memo yet, please read it. Thanks!)
Chapter 1 - New Life
I’ll bet not one of you knows who I am. I’ll bet only a small percentage of you can guess my first name. But, let’s cut to the chase; my name is Violet Murik, I’m 16 years old and I live with someone who isn’t in any way related to me. Why? Because my whole family is dead. That’s right, not one of them is alive.
The only person I would consider as family would be Lucia Voss. She was my parents’ closest friend, and the only one that knew about our family secret. We are werewolves. Technically speaking, I was a mistake. Vampires and werewolves were never supposed to mix. But, that didn’t stop my father from chasing my mother. That’s right, my father is a vampire and my mother is a werewolf. I was named after my father’s purple eyes, but I inherited my mother’s jet-black hair. My skin is pale as my father’s, but on the night of every full moon, I involuntarily change into a large, beastly black wolf. So much for being normal…
“Violet! You’ll be late for school if you don’t get up this instant!” Lucia hollered from the kitchen.
I groaned and rolled off my twin-sized bed. “Ow…” I cringed, rubbing the back of my head. Sometimes Lucia could be cruel, but that’s tough love. I got up and went to attend to my morning duties (brushing teeth, washing face, etc.). I changed into a red t-shirt, a dark grey striped zip-up hoodie and a pair of gunmetal jeans.
“Good morning, sunshine,” Lucia said as she served a plate of toast, bacon and eggs with a cup of blood.
I cocked an eyebrow at her comment. “Morning… queen of the undead,” I retorted.
She placed her hands on her hips and shot me with a stern look. “Excuse me?”
I shrugged. “Well, don’t you find it weird to call a vampire something that can kill one?”
She chuckled softly. “Well, excuse me for being normal. And you’re not even a full vampire anyways.”
Nevertheless, I dug into my morning meal.
After I finished, I went back upstairs to pack my schoolbag. I came back down and slipped on my checkered Circa’s. “Lucia?” I called.
“Coming!” she called, as she returned into view with her car keys in hand.
We walked out the door and into the Lucia’s car. She drove me to school, but before I got off, she wished me good luck. “I know it’s the first day of 10th grade, but don’t be nervous. Everything will be fine. You know which bus to take to come home right?”
I nodded. I got out of the silver vehicle and waved goodbye before I made my way into the school.
Once I entered homeroom, I was immediately tackled by my best and only friend, Jenna. “Hey Violet!” she exclaimed excitedly.
I laughed at her enthusiasm. You know how people love to label each other? Well, sadly, I was included in the mess, and so was Jenna.
Jenna is what you’d probably call scene. She has layered black hair with blond and hot pink highlights, countless piercings, and even a tattoo on the back of her right shoulder that reads “Anti-PREP”.
And me? Lots of people label me as emo. I have exceptionally straight-layered black hair that goes a bit past my shoulders which covers some of my left eye. I don’t have any highlights or piercings, but Jenna was the one who dared me to get an “X” tattoo on my left wrist. So, now I always have to wear a wristband or some chunky bracelet to hide the tattoo.
“Violet!” Jenna growled irritably.
“Huh?” I snapped out of my thoughts. “What is it?” I asked.
She groaned. “You weren’t listening, were you?”
I laughed nervously, shaking my head.
She completely recovered from whatever mini-fit she was having She grinned and stuck her tongue out after saying, “Check it out; I got a tongue piercing!”
I sighed. “Jenna, don’t you have enough piercings as it is already?”
She laughed. “What do you know? You don’t have any at all.”
Just then, her boyfriend, Seth, sauntered into the classroom. “What’s up guys?” he grinned, pulling me into a one-armed hug.
“Hey, what about me?!” Jenna pouted, acting as if she was angry.
He laughed, and let go of me. He walked over to Jenna and planted a kiss on her forehead. “Is that better?”
She nodded.
I scowled at them. “Ew, guys, you make me never want to fall in love.”
Jenna stuck her tongue out at me. “You’re just jealous!” she said in a singsong voice.
I shook my head and sat down in my seat. Class was going to start soon; I may be labeled Emo, but that doesn’t mean I can’t get good grades…
I sighed as my solders sagged. It was finally lunch. I grabbed a tray and waited in line. I picked up whatever I felt like eating and started to walk over to where Jenna and Seth were sitting.
Apparently, my wolfy senses were asleep today. Out of nowhere, Stacey (Really sorry if this is your real name!) stuck her foot out and made me trip. I fell forward and all the contents on my tray fell and spilt all over the floor.
“Oh look, it’s the emo-trash,” she mocked. “Good timing too; my heels were getting dirty,” she snickered, as she dug her heels into my back. She and her group of snobby friends laughed and strutted off.
I growled inwardly, as I got up, dusting myself off. I sighed, throwing the garbage in the can and walking towards my usual lunch table.
“Man, I can’t believe her!” Jenna growled. “Just who does she think she is, the stuck-up be-otch!”
Seth laughed. “Don’t get your panties in a bunch. Stacey wouldn’t stand a chance against Violet’s vamp-“
I slammed my hand against Seth’s mouth. “STFU…” I growled.
He blinked a couple of times, until realization came to his mind. “Sorry, I forgot…”
I sighed, removing my hand from his mouth. “It’s okay, just don’t forget next time, or else there won’t be a next time.”
He nodded, motioning his pinched thumb and finger across his lips, as if to “zip” his lips closed.
“You can have my pudding, I’ve never liked the stuff that much anyways,” Jenna said, handing me her chocolate cup of pudding.
I grinned half-heartedly. “Thanks, Jenna, but I’d prefer blood.”
Then, there it was. It came to my nose in a flurry, but it was awfully intoxicating. Type AB Rh-negative blood, rarest of all, and sadly, it was my favorite. I haven’t smelt it in a very long time, and when I do smell it, I go into a frenzy.
I scrunched my nostrils tight with my hand, to block out the scent before I go crazy.
“Violet? Are you- Oh no,” she said, her eyes widening.
