"You're hurting me," I whispered in pain at Embry's stong grip.
He held tighter, bringing his mouth close to mine, and hoarsly whipspered, "I'm only hurting you because I love you."

Chapter 1

Why hello there Embry

I sighed, stepping into the store. Why must I always be the one to get the grocerie. I shook my head back and forth. Who cares. Soon I'll be out of that house and off to see the world. Just one more year and I'll be 18.
After about an hour of shopping at this tiny La Push store I finally completed my shopping list. Except for one thing, donuts. There. On the top shelf. "Oh faboulous," I looked up. One of the workers noticed me starring at the donute.
"Hi," his soft voice came from behind me.
I turned around, craining my neck to look up at his beautiful eyes, "Hi," I returned his word.
He coughed, "Umm...do you need any help?"
I blinked. Help. Oh yes I forgot about that. "Heh yeah I guess I do," I quickly covered up my embarassment with humor, "I mean we can't all be giants now can we?" I patted his back and his mucles sofftend under my touch. I felt this, and curiously removed my hand.
He reached up and grabbed the donuts off of the top shelf. He handed them to me and our hands brushed together. I blushed. Wait I blushed? Well that certainly is not a normal Brooklyn Wilson behavior. "Thanks," I smiled.
He leaned back on the wall, crossing his arms, "So I havn't seen you around before."
"I've been here bout' two months, and I don't really get out much, as you can tell," I chuckled lifting up my noodle arms.
He laughed, "Well I'm Embry and you're?"
"Brooklyn," I stuck out my hand, "Brooklyn Wilson."
He closed his eyes, "That's a beautiful name."
"Why thank you my good sir." My phone started vibrating in my pocket, "Hang on one second." I answered the call, "Yellow?"
My mother's voice answered, there was a busy backround behind her. Where would she be right now? "Brookie, we have to go Seattle for buisness for a few hours. You'll be fine won't you?"
"Oh yeah of course," I replied, sarcasim leaking in my voice. "Well bye I llou." I could never say I love you to mom or dad unless I forced it. My family just...wasn't right. I hung up the phone, starring at Embry.
"Why hello there," I looked into his eyes. Something was in there, something I havn't seen before. Just what that was..I may never know. "I have to go, but I'll see you some other time?"
He smiled, "Sure, what's your number?" I handed him my phone, and he handed me his. We added eachother's numbers. "I'll be calling you soon."
"Yes you will," I laughed, waving bye. I checked out and drove home, feeling numb from happieness.
