Boarding School?! Bring it on! Wait, I'm rooming with BOYS?! (Girls only love story)
Enjoy avid readers. I don't know when I'll get to my other stuff, but this has been stuck in my head forever.
Chapter 1
Dude..s
I'm staring blankly at dorm 69 (teehee), recalling my past week. I finished up the Lion King on Broadway as older Nala, went to dinner with my mother and father who surprised me with a year of real school. I've been tutored all my life while flitting from one Broadway show to another.
Yeah, I'm a Broadway star... because I'm awesome. God bestowed upon me the range of Mariah Carey, but without all the sass, if that makes sense.
Anyway, normal school! I was so excited! I'd have classmates, steady friends and maybe even a boyfriend! Boarding school for my senior year would be the best experience I've ever had!
So we packed up my stuff (all 5 luggage bags, hot pink, zebra stripes) and drove upstate to Remington Acedemy.
We were met by stately iron gates, so-green-it-could-be-toxic grass and gothic archetecture with stained glass windows.
The entry hall was open and had ancient looking tiles, stone walls and a trickling water fall. No students were walking around, they were probably in class still.
I put my iPod in, Taylor Swift-- Mine. I wish this would happen to me, I let myself get lost in the guitar and bass drum, then suddenly found myself sitting in a chair facing a woman in a business suit. I pull my headphones off.
"Hello, Katherine. I'm Headmistress Cole. Welcome to Remington." She said in a strict tone. Her crow's feet were etched into her face permanently, as well as lines around her mouth. This lady looked like she could knock someone out.
"Hello, Headmistress Cole. I'm looking forward to learning here at Remington." I kept a business attitude. No-nonsense... sometimes.
"Splendid. Your dorm is number 69."-- I almost laughed, but I didn't-- "Hopefully I'll never see you ever again."
I didn't ask as I left with the key in my hand. Wasn't she a peach?
I exited the school building and went to the upperclassmen dorm, to dorm 69 (teehee) and here I am, staring.
What are my room mates going to be like? Will they like me? What do I say if they ask me where I went to school before? Will they hate me if they find out I'm sort of famous?... Only one way to find out.
I unlocked the door and the boy smell (you know what I'm talking about) hit me like a truck. Did these girls never shower?!
There was an open area with a TV, a big table fit for 4 and a sort of half-kitchen. The living room was closer to me while the kitchen/dining area was in the back of the big room. On the left there were four doors, I presumed the rooms.
Wow.. these girls were messy! There were skateboards everywhere, gym bags and I even saw a golf bag, plus a keyboard in the back of the room by the last door. The back wall was one big window.
I opened the first bedroom door, that one was filled with sports stuff. The second one was full of scary band posters and skateboards, the third one was empty. I unpacked there.
I made my bed with my sheets of hot pink zebra stripes. on black. Seeing a pattern? I'm obsessed, I'm sorry. I also assembled my vanity by myself with a screw driver and lots of rereading instructions. Maybe one of these tomboys would know how to build stuff. I tacked my posters of all the musicals and plays I've been in, all 17 of them.
I checked myself out in the mirror.. my rose print mid-thigh length skirt tucked over my matching white blouse added with my black tailored vest. This is my favorite outfit. It makes my legs look of godly dissent added with my red pumps. My long, mahogany hair caught the light and pretty much lit up the room.
I'm in a new town, a new school, meeting new people... what should I do before they get back? DANCE OF COURSE!
I plugged my iPod into an iHome and blasted Pretty Girl Rock by Kerri Hilson and sang along.
"My name is Kerri. I'm so very-- fly oh my, it's a little bit scary! Boys wanna marry-- looking at my diary-- air you can stare but if you touch imma very--"
I was prancing around the big room when I dropped my favorite coffee mug (which was empty)
"All eyes on me when I walk in, no question that this girl's a ten. Don't hate me 'cuz I'm beautiful! Don't hate me cuz I'm beautiful!" I sang with depth in my voice, letting it get all dramatic.
I did a fast turn and found myself under the shocked stares of three boys.
