Just meeting Harry Potter-- Part 2

After getting off the boats that Hagrid took us across, we climbed the steps up to the school. It was so Mid Evil, but it was great. When we entered into the castle, there were gasps as everyone walked down the hall. We came to this door that was amazingly huge. The teacher guiding us suddenly came to a halt and almost everyone got knocked down, trying not to run her over.

"It will just take a moment to get everything ready. You will wait here, and I will come back to get you." Before a second after she was done, she walked right into the room on the other side of the door. Everyone began to talk, whispering about what house they wanted. I looked away from Ron while he was talking to Harry about his brother Charlie, when I spotted a boy that stood out in the crowd. His hair was white, like snow, even his skin was white. As if he felt someone looking at him, he turned and saw me. Even from far away, I could see his eyes were cold daggers.

Suddenly, our teacher, Professor McGonagall came and led us into the room. As I looked around, it was amazingly huge. The ceiling looked like it was outside and hundreds of candles floated above the people who must've been students . There was no electricity, everything was flame. I looked around and saw there were four tables, each had so many students, but they seemed to all be wearing a different crest. I looked in front of me and saw a long table with adults. There were so many of them.

Everyone all of a sudden stopped at the front, next to a platform near the adults. Professor McGonagall pulled out an old looking parchment from her robes and unfolded it.

"When I call your names, you will sit on the stool and be sorted." She put her small glasses on and read aloud, "Abbot, Hannah." A girl came up and sat down on the small stool. Professor McGonagall put an old tattered looking hat on her, and it looked as it seemed to be thinking.

A girl right next to me seemed a bit anxious. I looked over at her. "Are you alright?" She looked at me a smiled a little. "Oh, I'm just worried, I hope I get Gryffindor." I was about to encourage her but I got cut off. "Granger, Hermione." Hermione? That's her name? I thought to myself as I watched her go through the crowd that was half gone.

She practically ran up the steps and yanked the hat on her head. It took a little bit, but the Sorting Hat called out, "GRYFFINDOR!" Hermione jumped off the stool, and after giving the hat back, she sat at the Gryffindor table. Just as Ron was being called up, I felt someone moving behind me. "You seem to be very interesting." I turned around, and saw the white boy. "I'm Draco Malfoy, and it takes a lot to make someone very interesting." Just as Draco reached out to me, I was pulling out my wand, 15 inches long with a Phoenix Feather and Dragons Blood, as I heard my name be called out.

"Riddle, Tay." I turned around quickly, walking away from Draco. I put my wand back in my robes and stepped up to the stool. I stopped in front of the stool, scared of what would happen, but I seemed to move and sit down on the stool. I looked out in the crowd, watching as everyone watched me, and knowing that they all wanted me, but deep down knowing they would never want me.

I felt the hat softly be put on my head, and looked away from everyone, just looking down. "Ah, this one is very interesting, very interesting. So much talent, braveness, oh but deep secrets in this one, tsk tsk tsk."

I felt something inside me twist as I remembered what happened to my latest foster parents. Joe was yelling, I could hear it from the living room, so I went down the hall and found him yelling at Tess, and he had his hand around her throat...then I saw green light fill the room. Everything was blurry after that...

I felt myself tighten my eyes. "Ahh, that is sad, couldn't move on from the kill could you? You might as well belong to Slytherin, or you could follow your sister and go the Gryffindor..." Before anything else happened, I saw as I left my dad from the train, the man I always thought my dad, a ghost...."It is hard to leave the ones we love to learn about ourselves...But I do see something else in you...yes, caring, but as I said, so much bravery...it's time..." I opened my eyes, everyone was just watching, hearing all the words the Sorting Hat said. I looked at my right arm, and could feel my cut burning..."Welcome your newest member....GRYFFINDOR!" The whole Gryffindor table exploded in screams and shouts. I felt so happy. I took the hat off and quickly walked over to the table.

As I walked over, I could hear loud clapping from the teachers. I looked over my shoulder and saw Hagrid clapping greatly, and some of the other teachers, even the old man in the center. I smiled and walked over to Tess, and sat right next to her. I saw that right after me, Draco was next and he got Slytherin...I felt so much happier at that moment.

After everyone was done getting sorted, food magically appeared and I finally noticed how hungry I was. I was digging through the food while Tess was introducing me to all the people around us, like the Prefect Percy Weasley, and the twin Weasleys, Fred and George, who was totally awesome, and Lee Jordan, who was funny. After being introduced, I introduced Tess to Harry, who she went gaga over, Ron, and Hermione.

As the food faded after dessert, we had to follow Percy up the stairs to the Common Room. When I entered, it was huge. There was a blazing fire and a huge couch in front of it. I felt so happier and weight lifted from my shoulders. I said goodnight to Harry and Ron and climbed more stairs to the girls dorm. As I saw my bed, I immediately fell on it and was instantly asleep.

My last thought was, I have a real home...I'm home
