Time passes
Don't really know where this story is going, but I guess it's Eli and Julia's background story. I really like julia. So far. And in All Falls Down, Eli mentions a certain dude named Mikey that use to bully him, he's in here too.
Mikey kept his distance. For now at least. Next time he wants to fight. i'll give it to him. I don't care if it's me not being the bigger man, the only way to keep a bully away, is to keep them scared.
Welcome to freaking eighth grade. I would have gone to Degrassi Junior High, but my parents wanted to be the only different family that wasn't sending their kid there. Lucky me. I had always been different. My parents raised me that way, and for the most part I didn't mind it. They let me be who I want to be, no judgements.
"Hey," I hear someone behind me. It could only be Julia. She was the only one at this school that could take my crap, and my smartass remarks. "Hey." I smile despite myself. She just made me feel good. Even if she reminded me of a crow...I wasn't going to tell her that though. "Did you do the english report?" She asks. I nod. Annoyed. I didn't mind the writing part. I was tired of the what did you do over the summer. What, are we in fourth grade? What's next show and tell?
I give her my paper. "Nice, you went to Deadhand concert?" She smiles small, but hands me back my paper. "And I read three books from Chuck Palahniuk." I smirk at myself. "Ah, we have finally graduated from pop up books I see...Good job Eli, you really out done yourself over the summer." She nudges me.
We're at the steps to the opening of the school. "What did you do?" I ask. She goes a little intense. "Oh, you know the usual. Watch chick flicks, read sappy love stories you see at walmart.." She said, letting her sentence hang. "Cause that sounds TOTALLY like you." I tease.
She only glares and nods. Mikey pushes me into the doors of the school. making all my papers fall out of my backpack. "Eli, just let it be." She says bending down to help me pick up my things. Again.
