No One Like Us

The computer screen was on and bright as the room. My room was a mess. The curtains were stained, I have a whole Clan of Dust Bunnies in my room, and most importantly I couldn't find my school uniform. Yes, sadly, it was Sunday. "MOVE IT FAT A$$!" Some girl cried from below. "What the heck-" I started but noticed a tan girl with olive skin scream at my dad. She had black glossy hair, just reaching her shoulders, with bright red highlights. "Wow thats pretty hair." I mumbled. My door opened and my brother Degan came in. "DEGAN. GET OUT!" I cried. He didn't listen and pushed me out of the way. "Who's the crazed lady screaming at dad- Oh hello." He started and ending with a devilish smile. I face palmed myself. "She looks 15, not 300 years old buddy." I said and pushed him out. I slammed my door close, only to have a pair of violet eyes stare out at me. She pointed. "WHO THE HECK IS THAT?" She screamed. My dad turned more red, but her mom came out and said Hi and he immediately calmed down. Her mom had the same glossy black hair with little strands of blonde. It was pretty. I realized I just put the girl in danger by pushing Degan out so I grabbed my other brother Kai, and threw him down the stairs towards Degan. They tripped and fell on top of each other, tumbling down the steps. It was funny. Their blonde curls bounced everywhere as the howled. I shook my brown hair. Boys never learn. Of course we are blood related, I just look like my mom, who married this guy, who had us and Yea, I didn't have dad's blonde curly hair and blue eyes, but Mom's perfect peachy skin with soft brown eyes and red-brown hair. "ASTRID!" Degan and Kai yelled in unison. "Uh-oh." And with that I ran to my room but they were too fast for me. Like a flash, they pushed and threw themselves on top of me, only to have us fall out of the open window in my room. RIGHT next to the girl, was where we landed. "That was interesting." She said and smiled at me. "I'm Sabrina." She said and took my hand. I held on and stood up. Degan looked at Sabrina with a quirky smile. "Hey." He said in his manly voice. Sabrina laughed in a soft gentle one. "I'm not interested buddy." She said and turned to me again. "Astrid Mahogany." I said and shook her hand. She smiled and said, "I know a cool park near by. I have this whole picnic set up for me and my mom but she can wait. She seems a bit interested in certain neighbors. Wanna join?" She smiled brightly. I sighed at the memory of mom, driving away, and never coming back. Pushing the thought away, I nodded. "Come on! Do you want Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum to come along too?" She said and looked over to Degan and Kai. I laughed and nodded and we all followed her lead. She entered her car, took her basket and started off...
