wild ride.

Alice dashed forwards into the woods with Lani closely behind. The early morning autumn air was crisp in their lungs. Alice could see her breath before her. The fiery colored trees loomed above her head painted with the colors of fall. Lani ran up closely behind her she could hear the leaves and twigs break beneath his feet as he followed behind her with slight difficulty. Alice had always been a child of the forest she found navigating through them quite easy and loved it. Alice laughed and spun in the middle of the leave colored forest in her usual childish ways. As Alice giggled and twirled she stopped gracefully her dress bubbling out to her sides then getting caught around her. Alice’s cheeks were bright pink from the cold air, her eyes shimmered black and orange, her hair was the color of the bark of the trees, dark deep brown. In this time she seemed to reflect autumn itself.
Lani laughed at Alice and entered the clearing. His gold hair shimmered in the streaks of light shining thru the trees, his grey eyes and light skin doubled with this light made him look like a heavenly angel. He looked as if he himself was causing the light to glow. Lani had always seemed perfect to Alice. He was the brother shed never had. She looked after him when no one else would. Alice loved him with all her heart and would never do anything to hurt him though she often got him into some sort of trouble but he always forgave her.
As Lani stood laughing the light shimmering around him he glowed in this light. Alice stepped forwards the leaves beneath her crunched and a slight shadow moved across her face from where the oak trees leaves blocked out the sun. She smiled softly at her brother. All seemed silent but at the same moment all seemed to speak their souls danced they didn’t know how strong a memory this would become but it was strong indeed. “Come on Lani” Alice said to him with a giggle. Lani replied as he glanced around “Alice have you got any idea where we are going?” Alice smirked at him and said “half the fun in life is not knowing where you will end up.” Alice spun again and skipped forwards a few yards. Before she stopped suddenly and hit the ground. She crouched forwards staring past the blue berry bush that hid her. Lani ran up quickly but wearily, as soon as he was near Alice she gripped his arm tightly and pulled him down. She pursed her fingers against her lips warning him to be quite. She motioned forwards past the brush. Lani’s face grew worry sum and scared. His eyes sparkled and his face grew tense. He carefully and wearily looked onwards. When he saw what lie ahead his face grew terrified.
Before them lay a baby dragon. Silver and black, it lay sleeping in a shady clearing of the forest, an oftly odd place for a dragon but there it was right before them. It took deep breaths and with each exhale leaves blew out in front of it and an indentations of leafless dirt was before him from where he’d blown away all dead foliage.
“Alice rose” he cried “we must get out of here, if it finds us here we could get badly hurt or killed” Alice just rolled her eyes and dragged Lani forwards with a grin across her face. She began to climb on the back of the dragon when Lani cried in a despite whisper “Alice rose! Get `off of that thing! What if it wakes up?!” Alice tried to calm him still looking at the dragon’s eyes making sure it doesn’t awaken “Lani stop worrying. We will just get on its back and when it wakes up we will go for a ride it won’t even know we are there” she then looked into Lani’s eyes trying to comfort him enough to get him to come along with her. Lani took a long glance at the sleeping dragon its steamy breath rolling from its nostrils. He looked back at Alice aside the dragon smiling at him. Lani took a deep breath and took Alice hand, she pulled him aboard the dragon. Alice sat in the front on the back of the dragon and Lani sat close behind her.
Soon after they had climbed upon the back of the dragon its fiery eyes jolted open and the dragon burst into the air. The dragon thrusts itself into the sky pounding its wings at the air. Alice and Lani both held on for dear life, they gripped tightly to the scales of the dragon and to each other. “Alice!!” Lani yelled. They thought all may be lost.
