Chapter 1

Just Another Night

Music blasting, lights flashing, hooting and laughter fills my ears as I saunter into the club with Kacie in tow.

Already there's a circle in the middle of the dance floor and some amateurs are dancing, drunkenly I might add.

I chuckle and the D.J notices us.

"Now make room people! The Hot Twins have arrived!" He shouts and a big cheer echoes from the crowd.

Kacie grins at me and walks into the circle, winking at a few guys.

Shaking my head, I join her and we circle each other then start dropping low.

Dancing is simply just moving your body. My dance instructor had taught me that and now his voice is filtering through my mind so I concentrate on his words.

A couple of guys start yelling at us and I stop, looking at them as if I want to fight them.

But before I can, a guy appears behind them and whispers in their ears.

The drunks' eyes get wide and they nod vigorously.

I laugh as the shaggy haired guys bolt for the door, pulling their pants up while doing so.

Kacie taps my shoulder and I look at her, accessing her.

Her dirty blond layered hair is sticking her face, and her green eyes are twinkling. She points toward a guy behind her who wraps his arms around her waist and I nod.

It's not just some random guy, it's just some dance partner of hers.

I smile as the two slow dance to a fast beat song.

As for me, I prefer to dance alone. That way I don't have to depend on anyone but me. And if I mess up, I only have myself to blame.

I make my way back into the circle, dancing through the people just fist-pumping.

I'm about half way through my own dance routine when I feel someone watching me, and they are close enough that I can feel their minty breath on my neck.

The hair on my arms and neck stood up and I stop, standing still.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."
