March: Book one.
Brendan was in a fix.
He ran faster than the wind that was whistling in his ears, and hopefully faster than the six or seven Animagi behind him. His Familiar had already been taken, as well as his friends and their Familiars.
One Animagi, a tiger, half humanized to look like a spell go wrong. However, he was now bipedal, had tiger fur, muscular arms, and clawed fingers.
This half man, Theo, leapt up and commenced tackling the boy. He succeeded, grabbing Brendan and holding him under his arm like a football. He eventually had to hold Brendan's shirt in his mouth, then slowly reverted into a tiger.
Theo carried him back to the Classden, where they put him with the other tests. Brendan sat in the cell-like area, and despaired, for he knew as well as anyone there was no escape.
