U were in 8th grade and u were 14 (u start young but you wil seem to age really fast while other people dont so just go with it) and ur school was having its first talent show next week but u werent sure if u wanted to be in it because no one not even ur family had heard u sing. U loved singing but u were just so afraid that no one would like how u sung. Three days before the talent show u decided u wanted to join so u went to ur vice principle Mr.Johnson and asked "Mr.Johnson i know its late notice but i really wanted to be in the talent how and i understand if it's to late." Mr.Johnson was really cool but was also strict about the show but he said "Whats ur act Sheridan?" "I wanted to sing a song that I wrote" U said. Mr.Joghnson paused "U wrote a song? Well let me hear it." u grabbed ur guitar and began to sing to him and u watched him as his eyes widened and his jaw dropped open. U couldn't tell if that was good or bad so u just kept on singing. Finally Mr.Johnson said "Ok i've heard enough." u were really nervous because he looked really serious so u just waited then he said "Sheridan that was AMAZING i want u to close the concert and i will introduce u myself." u were so happy then you said "Thanks so much and i was kinda wondering if when u introduce me if u could not say my name because i haven't sung for people ever and i want it to be a surprise and im gonna wear makeup and curl my hair so i dont think people will kno its me "Mr.Johnson was more than happy to do what u said "Absolutly Sheridan and i wont tell a soul that ur in the show not even the teachers."

3 DAYS LATER
It was the day of the talent show. U had been working on ur performance for 3 days straight Mr.Johnson had alot of special equipment set up just for u and u were super nervous u didn't attend ur classes because Mr.Johnson didn't want anyone to kno u were there today. The talent show just started and u were hidden back stage with ur make up and outfit on. U watched all the other acts thinking "Oh my gosh there so much better than me." and u were starting to get really nervous then u heard Mr.Johnson go on stage and say "We have one more surprise act for u guys and this girl once walked the halls an ordinary girl with nothing to make her stand out but she has one thing tht makes her different, one thing tht makes her like a splash of black on a white wall. This girl has a gift. A gift tht makes me wanna sit and listen to her for hours on end. Everyone welcome the magnificent...mystery." and with tht u went on stage and began to sing the song u wrote called Forever and Always (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bywHGmbnZw&NR skip to 33 seconds) as you began to sing u heard people whisper all over "Who is tht?" or "Dude check her out" and things like "Wow this is amazing" as the song went on u got more confident and sung even better then everyone went silent just to absorb the sound of ur voice. When the song ended everyone stood up and went crazy clapping like mad and u could here people including some of ur best friends and ur boyfriends, James, yelling "WHO ARE U?"
U stood there silently for a while listening to people in the crowd as they urged u to reveal ur identity. After a while u said "Please quiet down everyone." at this everyone went silent hoping to know who u were so u told them "Looking into this amazing crowd full of my friends and peers and listening to how they all dont know who i am kind of surprises me because i would think my friends know my voice but even my boyfriend has no clue but i guess i should tell u...." at this the crowd exploded begging u to tell ".....or i could just walk off this stage and leave u all wondering....but im not that type of person so ill give you 3 hints to have you guys guess.
1. I have a boyfriend.
2. Im in 8th grade.
3. I wasn't in school today.
So with those clues you can make your guesses....or i could sing another song and you can try and recognze me."
Everyone yelled "ANOTHER SONG!!"
So you took out your guitar and started to sing another song you wrote called Fearless ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qA0ZnCrnNDA ) while you were singing almost everyone ran up to the stage to get closer look and your friends were right in the front during a guitar solo so you bent down in front of your friends and whispered "And to think my best friends can't even recognize me.....man this makeup must be really good." After you said that your friends screamed. "OMG SHERIDAN!?!?!?"
U just looked at them until the guitar solo was over then u stood up and continued singing with out looking back at them but you began to spread the word and now everyone knew who you were but they didn't seem to care all they cared about was your voice as u finished the song everyone began to chant "SHERIDAN SHERIDAN SHERIDAN!!!!" U looked over at ur friends and winked. They smiled back. Then u looked at ur boyfriend James and he was standing there staring at u in shock. So u just laughed at him then mouthed "Hi babe." he smiled and said "I love u." but u didn't say it back, u had never said it to him because it was never true...u had never been in love.
U held the mic up to ur mouth and said "Wel it looks like u guys figured it out." Then u were about totalk some more and u felt ur back pocket vibrate and remembered u had ur phone in it you knew u might get in trouble if u pulled ur phone out but u did it anyway cuz u figured they wouldnt take it away right now.
As u looked at the phone u saw a contact pop up it said "Big Machine Records"

You were debating if u should send the CD u made into a record company. U were afraid of the rejection but u just kept telling urself "Whats life without a little risk?" so the next morning u sent ur CD out to all the record companies u could think of. As the days went by u found urself losing hope and thinking more and more about if ur voice was actually good so the days dragged on asu waited for a call...but it never came.

Scott Borchetta was flipping threw the tons of CD's he had been sent this week thinking about all the people that wanted to use him as a ride to fame as he had made Taylor Swift one of the biggest singers of the decade. As he looked as the CD covers he popped one in at random the name on the cover was Jenny Johnson as he lstened he said to his secretary "Eh shes ok but i dont think she has what it takes. She doesn't have star power." His secretary nodded in agreement. Scott listened to more Demo CD's but none of them stuck out even the ones that wrote there own songs. That was until he put in a CD titled "Sheridan Stone" and at the bottom it said "All songs written and performed by Sheridan. Edited and produced by Sheridan." He played the CD expecting it to be the same old thing. Nothing new. But then a video appeared which has happened alot. Alot of people make videos but this one was different. This one told a story. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihr7uY6PJYo&feature=related) and this one....this song....this girl...this voice...it was intoxicating...like a drug. He couldn't stop listening. Scott turned to look at Nicole his secretary and saw her eyes wide and mouth hanging open, her face stuck on a stunned expression staring at the screen. Scott turned back to look at the one called Sheridan Stone and just stare and let the music take over. When the song ended another began to play it was called Naturally and as this song played he knew, she was what he had been waiting for. He turned to Nicole and wispered more to himself than to her "Star Power..." that was all Nicole needed to here she had been waiting for him to give the ok and star power was what she needed. Nicole jumped up and began to look frantically for the CD but she couldnt find it. Scott still staring at the screen unconsciously held the CD out to Nicole. Nicole looked all over it for a phone number then she looke inside and found it. She sprinted out the door and down the hall to her desk to get to her phone. People all around looked out there open doors at Nicole sprinting and they then knew that this was it. This is what they had been waiting for. People left there offices and followed Nicole and watched her snatch up her phone and dial the numbers. The phone rang three times and Scott walked over to see a frantic Nicole saying "Answer. Please answer. Come on." then she stopped and began to talk to the voice on the other end of the line.

You flipped the phone open and put it to ur ear expecting to hear rejection but that wasnt what u heard at all....
U: Hello?
Lady on the phone: sounding slightly frantic Hello is this Sheridan Stone?
U: getting nervous uh yes who is this?
Lady: This is Nicole Wegman from Big Machine Records. I have a few questions for you.
U: thinking 'It's probably just some kind of survey' Ok ask away.
Nicole: How old are you?
U: I'm 14 gonna be 15 this summer.
Nicole: Very good. Where do u live?
U: Addison Illinois.
Nicole: Hmmm interesting....not many from Illinois...Do u have a history of musicians in your family?
U: Not many what's from Illinois? and no i do not.
Nicole: Not many singers.
U: How do u know im a singer?
Nicole: Didn't u send a Demo into Big Machine Records?
U: Yes i did but i thought this was some random survey...
Nicole: Oh no that is very much not the case. You weren't chosen at random. You were chosen from the top. You were chosen by the founder of Big Machine Records himself.
U: Im sorry this is a little confusing what's going on here?
Nicole: I will explain that in due time. I have one last question. Were we the only people you sent your Demo out to?
U: No i sent the CD out to a ton of record companies.
Nicole: gasps Oh no have u recieved calls from any of them yet?
U: No not yet. Your the first.
Nicole: Oh thank heavens. Now Mr.Borchetta wishes to speak with you. Please hold.
U: Uh ya ok.
At this point u just became aware that the entire audience could here every word of the conversation because ur mic was still on so u said "Uh u guys i have to take this im sorry ill be right back." Then Mrs.Williams, a mean teacher of yours, came up and said "Ms.Stone no phones im going to have to take that." U knew instinctively that u couldn't allow her to take the phone. U felt that this might be ur big break. "Im sorry Mrs.Williams but i can't allow u to take this." you looked over at Mr.Johnson as Mrs.Williams began to object so Mr.Johnson had your back and spoke up. "Mrs.Williams that's enough let Sheridan finish her conversation." U thanked Mr.Johnson and walked back stage.
Scott: Hello Sheridan this is Scott Borchetta
U: OH MY GOD your THE Scott Borchetta!? The discovererof the best singer to ever walk the earth?
Scott: Oh i see your a Taylor Swift fan eh?
U: The biggest.
Scott: Well i have an offer for u that will guarantee that you will meet Taylor.
U: WHAT!?!?
Scott: I heard your CD. I listened to the whole thing but that wasn't necessary because the instant i heard your voice i knew u were going to be big. I knew i had to sign you before anyone else could.
U: Wait ur saying u want to sign me? Like as a singer?
Scott: Yes i want u to be my new artist. I was u to work for my label. I must have a contract with u Sheridan Stone.
U: R U SERIOUS? i would love to get signed its my dream and i always wished it would be with Taylor Swift's record company.
Scott: Well it's ur lucky day. I want to sign u before other companies hear ur CD, so i will fly a representative out to ur location and they should be there in an hours time in the private jet. I heard there is a baseball field by ur school they will land there and come in and find u. Please do not talk to any other record companies until u meet with me.
U: That would be great and i promise i wont.
Scott: Ok see you soon.
U: Bye
U called ur mom and told her what was going on and she said it was fine for u to go out but to be careful of what u sign. Then u put ur phone away and walked back onto the stage with a shocked look on ur face.

Scott: I think we got this one.
Nicole cheered but the other people just stood there until one said "What does she sound like?" So Borchetta put the CD in and let the office listen and watched as they fell in love with the voice belonging to Sheridan Stone.
Scott: So do u guys think this is the oe?
everyone agreed she was amazing
Nicole: I think shes gonna be as big as Swift.
Scott: No.
Nicole: Oh sorry i know Swift is your favorite but......
Scott: Shes not going to be as big as Taylor........shes going to be BIGGER. I can make this little 14 year old girl HUGE in less than a month.
Nicole: I don't doubt that. So who is this representative your sending?
Scott: Oh just someone.

Everyone stared as u walked back on the stage and back to the mic then u heard someone yell "WHAT HAPPENED!?!?" u looked into the crowd and said softly "Oh nothing much. They just wanted to ask me a few questions." U werent ready to tell them yet. U wanted it to be ur little secret until u leave
U: So whose up for another song?
Everyone: ME!!!
U: Ok lets slow it down grab that special someone and share a dance :)
