Chapter 1
I love to laugh.
In this dark place, the only light i see is a smile, the only sound i hear is a laugh.
I am afraid of what might happen if the find us.
They show no mercy, no forgiveness.
They have no smiles. They cannot laugh.
That is why I am afraid.
If they find us they will kill us, or take us as slaves.
They will toucher till we feel no more.
But, for now I am safe. Wrapped in smiles and laughter.
At every day we pray that the war will come to an end, and that we shall once again be free.
But the war has gone on for hundreds of years now.
I am a Fredon. Yes a Fredon. But our people are losing the war.
The Laboz are the ones who are winning.
About 300 years ago thousands of my people Came to these cave for there own safety.
But then the Laboz found us. Since that day the surrounded our exit tunnels. They thought we would die of starvation.
They were too cowardly to just come in and kill us. They wanted us to die slowly.
Then when they thought that we were all dead. They used these caves as a dumping ground.
They would dump the dead body’s of soldiers in these caves. Ones of their own people and sometimes of our own people.
They never thought that some people might still be alive.
That is our food. Moss, water and our own dead.
If you live here you don’t live long. Your lucky just to live into you 40’s.
Its all the fault of malnourishment. So we are all condemned to doom.
Its always pitch black, but since I was a baby I could see clearly enough.
Down here there’s an earthy smell, but its the most wonderful.
Its the sweet sweet earth. And, when people’s time has come and gone. They lay them in the sweet, sweet earth, so that it may take back what it gave.
Sometimes I smile to myself in the darkness. Or laugh when I am alone.
I love to laugh. My voice echoing around the walls. Like everyone in my world is laughing. And that I know that I am not alone.
